ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT
Games Committeemen
Football assigns 2 “committeemen” to each of the championship series games. The HOST shall provide travel, housing, meals and/or meal expenses up to
$30 per-diem for the games committeemen.
GAME OFFICIALS
Officials
The HOST is responsible for providing travel expenses, meals, lodging, and game fees for all game officials.
Contracting
The selection of championship officials is the responsibility of the NAIA football Sport Manager in conjunction with the National Coordinator of Football
Officials. All efforts will be made to contract an officiating crew with close proximity to the championship site whenever possible.
Number of Officials
There will be seven (7) game officials contracted for the championship game plus an onsite coordinator.
Assigning
The NAIA contracts a Coordinator of Officials for football. That person is responsible for the assignment and evaluation of championship series and
championship game officials. The games committeemen will assist in the evaluation process as well.
Travel Arrangements
The HOST is responsible for the cost of travel. The NAIA football Sport Manager is responsible for coordinating the travel for the officials through the NAIA
official travel agency. An invoice will be sent to the host at the conclusion of the event for the cost of travel. Local officials are reimbursed at the current IRS
mileage rate, which is the responsibility of the HOST.
Dressing/locker room
Adequate changing/meeting space must be available to all officials at the site of competition. No official comes to the site of competition dressed in their
officiating uniform; they change on site. Shower facilities should be available at the conclusion of their contest. In addition, a television and DVD player shall
be made available to the officials the night before the championship game at their hotel and in the locker room the morning of the championship game.
Game Fees
Officials are paid $200 to work the national championship game.
Per Diem/Meals
The HOST is responsible for supplying per diem or meals for all Officials for the duration of their stay at the event. Per diem is a tournament budget expense.
Per diem is typically $30 per day per person when hospitality is present and $50 when hospitality is not provided, though negotiation of per diem is possible.
Payment of Officials
Officials will be paid directly by the HOST prior to the championship game. The Sport Manager will send the host a list of officials and game fees at least one
week prior to the game.
GAME FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Competition Site
An evaluation will be made of facilities to determine if they are acceptable for championship play. Selection of host sites will be based partly upon the quality
of the playing facility. The facility must meet specific football requirements and needs. Basic needs include a press box, concession area, locker rooms, and
athletic training facilities. The NAIA national championship must have exclusive use of the competition site for the duration of the event. Other groups who
desire the use of the facility must have approval of the local host as well as the NAIA.
