Pg 192 #19
KNOW ALL OF YOUR POSTULATES AND THEOREMS!!!!!!
Section 3.1 – Properties of Parallel Lines
 Be able to identify the angles formed by two lines and a transversal
 Be able to prove and use the properties of parallel lines (Ex: Pg 129 Proof of Theorem 3-1 and
Example 2)
 Know the difference between the original postulates/theorems of parallel lines and their converses!
 Be able to use the properties of parallel lines to find angle measures
Section 3.2 – Proving Lines Parallel
 Know the difference between the original postulates/theorems of parallel lines and their converses!
 Be able to recognize when lines are parallel (using corresponding, alternate interior, same-side interior,
alternate exterior, and same-side exterior angles)
Section 3.3 – Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
 Know and be able to apply the theorems from this section!
Section 3.4 – Parallel Lines and the Triangle Angle Sum Theorem
 Be able to classify triangles by their sides and their angles (acute, obtuse, right, scalene, isosceles,
equilateral)
 Be able to find missing angle measures in a triangle
 Know the Triangle Angle Sum Theorem
 Know the Triangle Exterior Angle Theorem
Section 3.5 – The Polygon Angle Sum Theorem
 Be able to classify polygons (hexagon, quadrilateral, etc.)
 Be able to use the polygon angle sum theorem to find the measures of interior angles
 Know the relationship between interior and exterior angles of a polygon
 Know what a regular polygon is and how to find the angle measures of one
 Know the polygon exterior angle sum theorem
 Be able to name a polygon by its vertices
Section 3.6 – Lines in the Coordinate Plane
 Be able to graph lines in point-slope form and in slope-intercept form
 Be able to graph lines in standard form using the intercepts as well as by transforming the equation into
slope-intercept form
 Know the three different equation forms for lines
 Be able to write equations of lines (including horizontal and vertical lines)
 Be able to find the slope of lines given two points
Section 3.7 – Slopes of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
 Be able to recognize parallel and perpendicular lines using their slopes
 Be able to write an equation of a line parallel to another line without graphing
 Be able to write and equation of a line perpendicular to another line without graphing
Review Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 notes!!!
There will be a few questions from chapter 1 and chapter 2 material on the test
