 Type into your web browser: www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sa/sbacinterimassess.asp. Locate the 2016-17 Interim
Assessment Block Blueprints. Click on ELA or Mathematics depending on the content area you chose above.

 Go to www.caaspp.org and click on the green button titled, “Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments.” Click on
Interim Assessment Viewing System. Sign in with your TOMS log in.
1) Select the Grade you chose from above. Click Next. Then select the IAB Assessment Name you chose above.
Select a form in the Test Forms section and click Next. Click on the sound icon and then click on I heard the
sound. Briefly review the questions. How do these assessment tasks and questions align to the assessments

Depending on whether you are giving an IAB that requires hand scoring or not, your next step will be different.

1) The hand scoring training guides and exemplar documents are critical for understanding what skills, abilities and
knowledge students need to demonstrate. Have my teachers used these documents to not only calibrate their
scoring of student responses but also used them to guide their instruction and assessments in the classroom? If

 For computer scored assessments go to http://www.smarterbalanced.org/assessments/development/ and locate
and expand the Item and Task Specifications. Refer back to your blueprint to locate the claims and targets that are
being assessed on the IAB. Click on the ELA or Math Item Specification and then click on the grade level and claim if
necessary of the IAB.
