1876 novel about a young boy growing up
along the Mississippi River. It is set in the
fictional town of St. Petersburg, inspired
by Hannibal, Missouri, where Twain lived.
• “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” - is told in
the first person by Huckleberry "Huck" Finn, a
friend of Tom Sawyer and narrator of two
other Twain novels. It is a direct sequel to The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
• “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's
Court” - in the book, a Yankee engineer
from Connecticut is accidentally transported
back in time to the court of King Arthur.
• “The Prince and the Pauper” - set in 1547, it
tells the story of two young boys who are
identical in appearance: Tom Canty,
a pauper who lives with his abusive father in
Offal Court off Pudding Lane in London,
and Prince Edward, son of King Henry VIII.
