GUIDE TO ROSECAST SCIENTIFIC SILVER (RS) RS is a powerful astrological calculation program that performs “transit to transit” (the planets as they align in the skies at any given moment in time) and “transit to natal” (the planets as they align in the skies in relation to the planets at a natal date) calculations between geocentric and heliocentric planets and their midpoints. RS also calculates co called Co-Antiscias (mirror points along the East-West axis) of both Geocentric and Heliocentric planets and their midpoints. These Co-Antiscias have been found by some renowned astrologers to provide an important missing part to the study of financial astrology and RS is the only commercially available software worldwide that is able to perform such calculations. 1) SETTING THE START DATE The correct input format is Month/Date/Year (MM/DD/YYYY). Make sure that this format appears in the order above. If not the program will crash on you or not function correctly.. If you do not see the results above go to WINDOWS (START) – CONTROL PANELREGIONAL OPTIONS and change your date settings accordingly until you get the above format (MM/DD/YYYY).when opening RS. 2) SETTING THE START HOUR OF THE INITIAL CALCULATION: Any input of whole numbers between 0 and 23 is accepted. . 3) SELECTING THE TIME ZONE: 5 is used for US Eastern Time (New York), Winter 4 is used for US Eastern Time (New York), Summer 0 is used for GMT (London), Winter -7 would be used for Singapore Find your correct Time Zone on the web (search Time Zones and your city), if you do not know it. 4) SELECTING THE RIGHT CALCULATION PERIOD The Calculation Period is indicated in days. If you want to calculate 3 years of data, then enter 1098 (366 times 3) Please be aware that the calculation time will take very long if you use the Moon or midpoints of the Moon in calculations of several years. The software could also crash in this case. If this happens, open the RS again and prepare a new calculation. Calculation time of the software will also vary on the processor used by your personal computer. An excellent (speedy performance) processor for this software is the Intel E8500 or any higher or similar processor with a high MHZ value. For intraday calculations you can also use a value smaller than 1. I.e. if you want to calculate the time between 9h00 and 16h00 then use start hour 9 and calculation period 0.3. 0.3. will calculate 7 or 8 hours for example. 5) SELECTING ASPECTS: Next you can select an aspect or multiple aspects from the list of possible aspects to calculate by checking the appropriate aspect checkboxes. 6) INPUT OF NATAL DATA Input of the Natal Date, Natal Time and Time Zone performs as described under points 1) to 3). Natal Time also allows you to enter the exact minute for any given data. Notice that RS does not run any calculations for the location dependent points like the AC and MC. Therefore it is NOT necessary to enter a City of Birth when performing minute to minute precise natal calculations. Once you have entered your Natal data you can safe them (under your name of choice) in the Program Folder by clicking SAFE. In order to load the saved data click OPEN. 7) THREE GROUPS OF PLANETARY DATA IN RS Calculations of TRANSIT-NATAL and TRANSIT-TRANSIT For “transits to natal” calculations use ONLY groups 2 (for selecting the transiting planets) and 3 (for selecting the natal planets – planets in the skies at the natal date) For “transits to transits” calculations use ONLY groups 1 and 2. Most astrological software will only use one group for calculating “Transits to Transits.” Q.: Why do RS offer the user the choice to use TWO groups of planets? A.: RS has been designed as a research program for scientific research in astrology. In any discipline of scientific research it is necessary to filter between important data and unimportant data. In RS groups 1 allows the user to select all those planets that the user wants to mix with each other in calculations. Group 2 on the contrary is designed for selecting planets that the user does not want to mix with each other. An example below will make the difference clear. First example: If you wanted to search all oppositions and conjunctions between geocentric Saturn and Venus, you would select black Venus and Saturn in group 1, select the appropriate aspects in the aspects entries on the left side of the main program window and then start the calculations by pressing “Transits”. Let’s assume you read on a financial astrology website that Neptune is the planet that signifies a certain commodity. Now you want to find out what happens to that commodity when all planets (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) make hard (90 and 180) aspects to Neptune, but you are not interested in any aspects between Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn per se. With most astrological software you simply cannot do it, you must calculate all aspects between all planets selected. With RS you highlight Neptune in group 1 and highlight all other planets in group 2 and then press TRANSITS and voila - you will get the desired result. Neptune will mix will all planets in group2, but none of the planets in group 2 will mix with each other and become part of the output. Second example: Lets say you want to calculate all Aspects and Trispects between Neptune and the group of Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. You are not interested in any aspects between midpoints, and in any aspects between planets other than Neptune. Solution: You highlight Neptune in group 1 (column1) and all other planets in group 2 column 1 and group2 column 5 (simply select all midpoints between Sun to Saturn. Press TRANSITS and voila…. Important Note: Selecting single planets is done by holding CTRL button on your keyboard and right clicking to select single planets and midpoints for calculations. 8) SAVING THE INPUT DATA Once you have selected all midpoints and planets that you are interested in from groups 1 and 2, it is best to save this data for easy retrieving at a later time (so that you do not have to manually input the selected midpoints again). In order to do this, press FILE and SAVE SETTINGS and this will save all your planets, midpoints and aspect settings (in group 1 and group 2) for later use. 9) PLANETS INCLUDED IN RS Besides all nine traditional planets and the Moon, RS allows you to calculate the first four asteroids which were believed to be planets at the time of their discovery (18011807). These asteroids are called CERES, PALLAS, JUNO and VESTA. Furthermore RS calculates in geocentric modes (columns 1, 2, 5 and 6) the TRUE LUNAR NODE (planetary glyph for the TLN is that of the North Node), the MEAN LUNAR NODE (planetary glyph of the MLN is that of the South Node) and SEDNA (planetary glyph of Sedna is that of Lilith – the Dark Moon). Sedna is a very slow moving asteroid body that orbits far beyond Pluto and has only been discovered in 2005. Some astrologers have called Sedna the missing tenth planet. Sedna is believed by some astrologers to be a potential missing piece in the scientific study of financial astrology. 10-14) USING VETOS TO SELECT IMPORTANT DATA 10) G/H VETO This Veto allows you to prevent geocentric planets from calculating aspects to heliocentric planets. Thus you can make one report (output) at a single mouse click (press TRANSITS) that includes heliocentric and geocentric data without having to view aspects between geocentric and heliocentric planets. 11) M/G VETO This Veto is very similar to the GH veto. While the GH Veto applies to all columns, the MG veto only applies to column 5 to 8. The result of using the MG Veto is that aspects between Geocentric and heliocentric planets are calculated, while trispects between geocentric and heliocentric planets are not calculated. 12) N/A VETO This Veto allows you to prevent geocentric planets from calculating aspects to their Antiscias. Thus you can make one report (output) at a single mouse click (press TRANSITS) that includes geocentric data and data for Antiscias without having to view aspects between geocentric and Antiscias planets. 13) M/A VETO This Veto is very similar to the NA veto. While the NA Veto applies to all columns, the MA veto only applies to column 5 to 8. The result of using the MA Veto is that aspects between Geocentric and Antisicias are calculated, while trispects between geocentric planets and Antisicias are not calculated. 14) M/S VETO Finally I would like to describe the M/S veto a bit. The M/S veto has been designed in order to select the most important aspects and trispects into one important list. Upon selecting M/S veto a new window opens that is solely designed to enter and save your selections for the M/S veto. In particular the MS veto allows you to select the most important aspects of your choice (i.e. the opposition, square and conjunction) and prevent theses aspects from being subject to the various other Vetoes (GH, MG, NA, MA), while otherwise the other vetoes work as described above. So once could say that the M/S veto allows exceptions from the strict restrictions of the other vetoes. Sun/Moon - if selected - excludes this midpoint from the restrictions of the other vetoes. LMP (Lunar Midpoints), if checked, will make all lunar points subject to the vetoes selected, even if some aspects are run and thus will make some trispects (where the midpoint does not include the Moon) exempt from the vetoes. Important Note: I recommend you to “play” with the various Vetoes until you have found your desired set of astrological aspects and trispects. RS allows you to calculate up to 10 different transits searches that will stay on the screen in their respective windows. This allows you to compare various results before using the EXCEL routine to copy all desired results into MS excel. 15-18) GETTING RESULTS Results are displayed in the Transits X (X=1-10) windows. 15) COPY TO EXCEL Open an MS Excel Sheet and mark the first cell into which you want to copy the results of RS Transits. Then click anywhere in the “Transits X” window. The Copy to Excel procedure will start. During the time of the procedure, do not use the program otherwise as this might compromise the process of transferring all data smoothly into Excel. Note that the COPY TO EXCEL is designed to copy BOLD text as well as colored text and background colors. 16) Boxes X Y A B C D The above checkboxes are used to bring color to the results. All boxes will highlight various combinations of planets that I consider to be important for the study of financial astrology. There is no one correct choice; rather there are many possible combinations of choices that will be helpful for the analysis of the financial markets. I recommend to play with various settings and to settle for those settings that you deem meaningful. 17) Reduce: This is a checkbox that reduces duplicates – similar aspects that occur within the same minute. One of the duplicates is deleted when checking this box. 18) Swap: This command button swaps P1 and P2 planets into each others places. However this button can only be used once, so you cannot swap data back into the original position. This button is used to bring the Moon in the P2 position, which might be useful if you look at the P1 column only to select crucial planets from the results. 19) SELECTING EVALUATION PARAMETERS Click the EVAL button and then select the pre-delivered “Markus. Val” file (by highlighting it and pressing OPEN) and then the Evaluation window will appear. The Evaluation window allows you to select for each planet a positive and a negative value. I suggest limiting yourself to values between 0 and 10 or minus 10 respectively, the software allow you to go up to 100 or even higher. Likewise you can select a positive and a negative value for each of the most important aspects in astrology. After doing this I suggest you save your settings into a “X.Val” file so that you do not have to go through the whole procedure again. Now press the “Evaluate Button”. Upon doing this 6 columns are added to the Transits 1 window that consist of the following 1) A Ev, stands for Evaluation of Aspects 2) P Ev, stands for Evaluation of Transits 3) M Ev, stands for Evaluation of Midpoints 4) Sum, stands of the sum of columns 1 to 3 5) Cum Sum, stands for the cumulative sum of all prior rows 6) Abs Sum, stands for the absolute (ignoring the minus sign) sum of columns 1 to 3. You have several options to change the results of columns 1 to 3 in the Evaluation Parameters Window. These options are: 1) Apply to midpoints: Applies geocentric and heliocentric planetary settings to midpoints 2) 4 midpoints multipliers of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. 3) The possibility to multiply and add aspects with the sum of the planetary (the M Ev and P Ev) values. 4) The possibility to select either only positive or negative evaluation settings for planets and midpoints based on a positive or negative setting for each and every aspect. 20) CREATING THE GRAPH After you have completed all steps under 19, you have the possibility to see the columns 4 to 6 in a graphical display. To view the Graph, go back to the Evaluation Parameters Window and press “Graph”. Within the Graph window there are several options, many of which are self-explanatory. I just want to bring your attention to the Menu Item SUM that allows you to select the CUM SUM (called DAILY FORECAST), or the SUM (called HIGHS AND LOWS) and finally the ABSOLUTE SUM (called Turning Points). 21) CHANGING EVALUATION PARAMETERS AND SELECTING THE GRAPH AGAIN Finally I suggest to you to go back to the Evaluation Parameters windows and change one of the four options discussed under section 19). After this press “Evaluate” and then press “Graph” and you will get a new graph displaying the changed settings. I suggest you repeat step 21 until you find a graph that appears to be valuable for forecasting. Finally you SAVE the “Evaluate “Settings” in the Evaluation Parameters window under a file name of your choice. When you come back next time, you will be ready to go with all that you have learned during your last session. 22) QUICK SETUP: HOW TO CREATE A DAILY FORECAST GRAPH: 1) Load Daily. opt or Daily1.opt or your own created and saved opt. file 2) Press TRANSITS….calculation will start and Transits1 window will open 3) Press EVAL 4) If the EVAL window opens load the markus.val file or just load the markus.val file if prompted 5) Now you should be in the Evaluation Parameters Window 6) Press “Evaluate”, see how this changes the last columns in the Transits1 window 7) Press “Graph” and a new window called “Sums for….” will open and the daily forecast graph is displayed 8) Explore the menu items SUMS (press CTRL+F1/F2/F3- highs and lows - turning points) and DRAW for different possibilities of display. We wish you much fun and success in exploring and finding those special settings that allow you to create your own valuable forecasting GRAPHS for different time frames (from one day to several years) with the Rosecast Scientific Software. Likewise the software is designed to allow the aspiring financial astrologer to test many different theories about financial astrology. Finally Rosecast Scientific encourages you to build your own theories about financial astrology and test them by comparing the forecasted graphs to charts of various stocks and commodities. © Markus Rose 2009, www.rosecast.com, Rosecast Market Timing
