Donegal Braves Midget Football Meeting Minutes Tuesday February 21st, 2017 East Donegal Township Building, Maytown In attendance: Board Members: Scott Mackison, Nick Fisher, Jody Carroll, Kelly Johnson Others: Allison Harris, Jake Geesey, James Carroll, Draye Mowrer, Ashley Clark, Rodney Marshall, Deb Shank 1. The meeting was called to order at 6:29pm by Scott Mackison, President 2. The minutes from the October 18th, 2016 public meeting were approved with a motion to accept from Jody Carroll and a 2nd by Nick Fisher. 3. Flag Football 2017: - Dates proposed April 2nd, April 9th, April 16th, (No April 23rd-Easter), April 30th, May 7th -Location: Donegal Athletic Complex at the High School - High School football team will be the coaches -start time 12:30pm - Need to order flag belts and T-shirts. Footballs? -E-town Sporting Goods provided the following prices of equipment for flag football. $7.00 shirts, $6.00 flag belts. Footballs $35.00 or inexpensive rubber footballs for around $10.00. -Need to check on flag footballs . Jake will check with Jason about footballs and flag belts. -Any other field equipment that the Braves need to provide? cones, pumps, - It was decided to leave the Registration fee at $25.00 - Kelly will take care of the Registration form approval, copying, & distribution -It was requested by the athletic director at the high school that the district has an updated insurance policy for flag football. Kelly sent 2 emails requesting the information from Corey Stough, at the time of the meeting currently waiting on response from Corey Stough. - Tom Baughman was able to coordinate with the athletic director to reserve the stadium for the requested dates. There is a question about the district wanting to charge us for use of the field. Follow up will be needed. 4. Online Registration for the Braves -comparison between Active Network and Sports Engine. -After a discussion regarding fees, technology, and where other sports organizations in the area are with online registration, it was brought to a vote that the Donegal Braves would move to an online registration format. Everyone that was present at the meeting voted in favor of moving to online registration. -Everyone present voted in favor of going with Sports Engine for website hosting & online registration. -There was also discussion of raising the registration fee by $5.00 to $90.00. Everyone that was present at the meeting voted in favor of raising the registration fee to $90.00. 5. Scott Mackison appointed Heather Woods, Lisa Sload, and Allison Harris as concession stand directors. 6. When new board members are brought onto the board, authorized signers need to be updated with Union Community Bank. The bank requests a letter and meeting minutes as documentation to make these changes. At the time of this meeting, the proper documents have been delivered to the bank. We are currently awaiting contact from the bank that they are ready for the current board members to go in and sign their paperwork. 7. New Business -Scott Mackison following up on $900 bill received from the school district for home Braves football games for janitors. -No financial report available. Jody is meeting with Corey Stough on Thursday February 23rd to go over treasurer details. -Coaches: Scott would like to know who is returning. -All D squad coaches from last year will be returning to D squad. -Nick Fisher suggested that he could help out at C squad. -Red Rose Football League By Laws -Nick and Tom are going to propose 2 sections instead of 3. Having a north, south, east, west divisions. -General consensus of not increasing weight limit. -no on 6 year old. -The suggestion was made to purchase yard signs to promote Donegal Braves registration. -Nick will check into the pricing of signs. -consider referral bonus for players. -Next meeting topics: fundraisers, update on website transfer -Nick proposed having a separate meeting for the budget before starting the sports engine transfer. March 7th is the proposed budget meeting place TBD. Nick Fisher made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 pm with a 2nd from Jake Geesey Next public meeting will be Tuesday March 21st at the East Donegal Township Building.
