Ask that they identify a capital and lower case letter as they read. 4. Have children picture frame sight words as you call them out. Children may want to take turns reading their favorite page. 5. Nonsense word game – Working Sheet and pencil are needed for each student. Roll the consonant alphabet die. Record the letter on the sheet under the first column. Roll the vowel die and record the vowel under the second column. Roll the consonant die and record the letter on the third column. Write the whole nonsense word. Have the student pronounce or sound out the word. Continue to play as long as time allows. TA Station 1.Sheet – Top 2 groups –cut out the words and clue them next to the correct picture. Use a yellow crayon to go Sight Word Hunting throughout the book “Cats in Hats.” They will then read the book together and then allow students to read individual pages. 3. TA Station 1.Sheet - Cut and sort pictures by their word family –at, -it, ig, -ag words. 2. Once children are finished have them make the sound that the family says and then say the pictures be each column. TA’s may need to say the sound and allow the students to tell the pictures below the columns. 3. Play appropriate DIBELS games for each group. Other Individual Teacher Computer. (hit, kit, lit, pit, sit) The lower groups will need assistance sounding out words prior to beginning the activity. Day 1 Rainbow Trace – one Trace the word one with crayons - o – green (first letter) n– blue (middle letter) and e– purple (last letter). Trace the n with yellow (consonants) and o,e – red (vowel).
