BUS 101 – INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS I ( 3-0-3) ECTS 7
This course aims to provide students with a broad overview of the main functions of management such as marketing,
accounting, operations, production, institutionalization and international business activities in today’s global environment.
This course provides general perspective on basic organizational operations, types and business subjects. This course
includes basic business concepts such as classification of business, business and environment, basic business functions like
marketing, finance, production.
ECO 101 – INTRODUCTION TO ECONOMICS I (3-0-3) ECTS 5
The aim of the course is to develop an understanding of elementary microeconomic analysis and its applications and create
awareness about the economics topics that they are going to face in the future. Introduction to economics at micro level: Its
nature, scope, and methods; a general view of the price system, consumer behavior, and theory of the firm; at times, with due
reference to Turkish economy whenever appropriate.

BUS 201 – PRINCIPLES OF ACCOUNTING I ( 3-0-3) ECTS 8
The aim of the course is to enable students to appreciate the role of accounting in the business environment, to develop the
skills required to record business transactions and to apply accounting concepts in the preparation of financial statements.
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the purpose of
accounting, the application of concepts and conventions, mastery of the procedures for recording business events and
compiling a financial database and preparation of financial statements for managerial decisions.
BUS 211 – STATISTICS I (3-0-3) ECTS 8
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of statistical tools that can be useful in a business environment. The
main focus of the course is to provide an understanding of the statistical concepts that provide the basis of further statistical
analysis. The course covers the following topics: descriptive statistics, data analysis (graphical descriptions of data, numerical
descriptive measures), probability, random variables (discrete random variables and continuous random variables),
probability distribution, sampling distribution, point estimation and interval estimation.
ECO 201 – ECONOMIC THEORY I ( 3-0-3) ECTS 6
The aim of this course is to examine the analytical framework used in microeconomics. New concepts are illustrated with
entertaining and informative examples, both verbal and numerical. In addition, several purely ‘micro' topics are illustrated
with ‘macro' applications. Topics include supply, demand and equilibrium, the behavior of consumers, the behavior of firms,
production and costs, competition welfare economics, knowledge information, monopoly, market power, collusion and
oligopoly, the theory of games, external costs and benefits, common property and public goods, the demands for factors of
production, the market for labor, risk and uncertainty.
BUS 221 – INTRODUCTION TO MANAGEMENT SCIENCE (3-0-3) ECTS 6
The aim of the course is to teach evolutionary changes in management, management theory and practice. The course
addresses the following topics: modern management and history, current thinking of managing, modern management
challenges, corporate social responsibility and business ethics, diversity management, managing in the global arena, functions
of management; principles of planning, organizing; leading and controlling and related topics about functions of
management.
ATA 101 - ATATÜRK’S PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF TURKISH REVOLUTION I (2-0-2) ECTS 2
The aim of the course is to bring up hopeful and patriot young generation by informing them about the conditions in which
the Turkish Republic was founded, making them adopt Ataturk’s principles and revolutions as their own and make them
adopt his nationalism approach, leadership and revolutionary character. Topics include fall of the Ottoman Empire, Tanzimat
and Islahat Eras, Tripoli and Balkan Wars, World War I, the Armistice of Moudros, the Occupation of Anatolia and the
National Reactions, The Birth of the Turkish Revolution, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s life and military career, Turkish War of
Independence.

BUS 202 – PRINCIPLES OF ACCOUNTING II ( 3-0-3) ECTS 8
The aim of the course is to enable students to distinguish the different forms of business ownership, to appreciate the impact
of different forms of business ownership on financial reporting and the resulting capital structure and to understand the
impact of statutory regulations and the accounting profession's requirements on the format and presentation of company
accounts. On completion of this course, students should be able to prepare financial statements for partnerships and
companies, make adjustments required for the application of different accounting concepts, assess the financial wealth of a
business from a set of annual reports and identify underlying causes for changes in performance, adjust for businesses
adopting different accounting policies and identify how products are to be costed/priced and how financial information is
used to aid short-term decision-making.
BUS 212 – STATISTICS II (3-0-3) ECTS 8
The aim of this course is to provide students with statistical tools that can be utilized for handling business problems.
Elaborating on the statistical concepts and methods studied in this course. The course focuses on hypothesis testing in
general, testing problems for one and two populations, contingency tables and testing for independence, correlation, simple
and multiple regression, and analysis of variance.
ECO 202 – ECONOMIC THEORY II ( 3-0-3) ECTS 6
The aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of macroeconomic analysis. The course presents the theory of shortrun economic fluctuations which provides the basis for understanding most discussions of monetary and fiscal policy. Also
the course gives ample attention to long-term topics including economic growth, the natural rate of unemployment, persistent
inflation and government debt. Topics include money supply and money demand, the open economy, the theory of economic
fluctuations and debates over various macroeconomic issues. Macroeconomics is a theoretical as well as an empirical
discipline, motivated and guided by a wide array of experience.
BUS 222 – INTRODUCTION TO MARKETING (3-0-3) ECTS 6
The aims of this course is to teach students the basic concepts of marketing. In this course, marketing concept, marketing
system, pricing, product, distribution channels, promotion, marketing research, market segmentation and market analysis are
analyzed.
ATA 102 - ATATÜRK’S PRINCIPLES AND HISTORY OF TURKISH REVOLUTION II (2-0-2) ECTS 2
The aim of the course is to bring up hopeful and patriot young generation by informing them about the conditions in which
the Turkish Republic was founded, making them adopt Ataturk’s principles and revolutions as their own and make them
adopt his nationalism approach, leadership and revolutionary character. Topics include the strategy of Turkish Revolution,
the revolution in political, social and economic life and in legislation, Ataturk’s Principles and foreign policy, Turkey in the

BUS 301 - HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course is concerned with the practice of human resource management in organisations. The course discusses HRM
policy and practice concerning recruitment and selection, organisational exit, performance management, careers, training and
development, job design and reward. It examines employee relations and equal opportunities in the context of their
relationship with HRM.
BUS 311 - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT I (3-0-3) ECTS 5
The emphasis of the course is on management of financial institutions and the role of money in the financial system of the
country. This course includes comprehensive survey of the role of each of the major financial institutions; such as
commercial banks, investment banks, central bank, stock markets
BUS 321 - PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course aims to introduce and develop the main principles of production and operations management. Produce goods and
services, strategic management, decisions within organizations, basic models, software packages, appropriate techniques,
inventory management, project management, short-term scheduling, linear programming, transportation problems and
aggregate planning, as well as a brief introduction to MRP & MRPII.
BUS 331 - FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course is aimed at giving students a thorough understanding of the basic principles of both asset structure and capital
structure management, as well as the tools of financial analysis and institutional environment in which financial transactions
take place. The course will include such topics as financial statement analysis, mathematics of finance, asset management
(capital budgeting, management of working capital assets and intangibles), valuation principles, capital structure
management, structure and functions of financial and capital markets including selected aspects of international and
multinational finance environment.
LAW 301 - COMMERCIAL LAW (3-0-3) ECTS 5
Aim of this course is providing detailed knowledge of how the trade law works in Turkey. Topics discussed in this lesson
include tradesman, the types of commercial enterprise, ınterest, commercial activity, tradesman’s aids, trade name, the name
of commercial enterprise, commercial register, trademark, unfair competition, commercial books and current account, the
concept of company, classification of commercial corporations, partnerships (law of obligation, article 520-541), unlimited
companies, companies with limited liability, limited companies, joint – stock companies, the concept of negoitable
instruments, types of negoitable instruments, the concepts of maritime trade such as ship, shipowner, association of
shipowners, captain, the concept of insurance, insurance contract and the types of insurance.

BUS 341 - MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course aims to inform students about integration of usage of technology into decision in organizations. It requires the
student to apply the management principles and information technology knowledge from prior course work to the specific
requirements of managing the information resources of the organization. The course focuses on information needs of
management, design of management information systems with respect to managerial objectives, information processing, and
control, and use of information technology at managerial processes and decision making level.
BUS 351 - ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR (3-0-3) ECTS 5
Aim of this course is to discuss organizational culture with respect to their impacts on personal, group and organizational
effectiveness. In this course, human behaviour in organizations is examined in terms of its impacts on individual, group, and
organizational effectiveness. In the individual level, personality, values, perception, motivation; in the group level, group
formation, communication, leadership, power-politics, conflict and in the organizational level, structure, technology

BUS 302 - MARKETING MANAGEMENT (3-0-3) ECTS 5
Aim of this course is to give main ideas of the course which are mostly about applications of marketing strategy. Evaluation
of market opportunities and boundaries, development of marketing objectives, development, and application of marketing
strategy and marketing plans are analyzed in this course.
BUS 312 - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT II (3-0-3) ECTS 5
The main aim of this course is to give cost concepts and cost accounting and the need for the purposes of the definition,
elements of the production cost, cost distribution methods. Topics discussed in this course include classification of costs and
the introduction of cost factors, to calculate the costs of production, goes to places and to apply the methods of cost
allocation.
BUS 322 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course aims to provides you with a basic understanding of project management methodology and practices. This course
that focuses on how projects are managed in real life is mostly (but not entirely) based on the on PMI® (Project Management
Institute®) standards.
BUS 332 - COST ACCOUNTING (3-0-3) ECTS 5
Aim of this course is to give general information about cost accounting. This course is organized to introduce basic cost
accounting concepts and techniques with an emphasis on providing information for management decision making. Topics
include comparison of cost and expense concepts, flow of costs, classifications of costs, accumulation of direct materials
cost, direct labor cost, manufacturing overhead cost, assignment of manufacturing overhead costs to cost centers, assignment
of the costs of supporting service functions, analysis of the process cost system, job order cost system and standard cost
system. In addition, this course aims to relate the uniform chart of accounts with respect to cost accounting purposes
LAW 302 – LAW OF OBLIGATIONS (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course is designed to give students a theoretical and practical understanding regarding the first part of the general
provisions of the Turkish law of obligations. The course focuses mainly on the law of contracts and especially on formation
of contracts, authority of agents, validity issues, interpretation and content of contracts, performance and remedies in case of
non-performance.

BUS 342 - ORGANIZATIONAL THEORY (3-0-3) ECTS 5
The aim of the course is to explore some of the key issues in the analysis of organization teories. Some of the main topics to
be covered are the environment of organizations, technology, social structure, culture, power, politics, conflict, ideology,
control, governance and organizational learning.
BUS 352 - CONSUMER BEHAVIOR (3-0-3) ECTS 5
This course aims to inform the students why there is a need to study consumer behavior as a separate marketing discipline as
well as providing them with a conceptual framework that will both enhance their understanding of consumer behavior
principles and permit practical application of these principles to real life situations. More specifically, perception, learning,
motivation, personality and attitudes are the topics to be covered in the case of the internal factors: groups, family, social
class and culture are the topics to be covered in respect to external factors.

This course aims to teach students how to evaluate and conduct economic analysis of issues relating to international
economics. The course introduces microeconomic and macroeconomic issues relevant to economic relations among

BUS 402 - AUDITING (3-0-3) ECTS 6
It focuses on review of audit procedures and audit reports. sampling. This course includes the topics such as basic auditing
principles, including professional standards, ethics, internal control, evidence gathering, fraud, and statistical sampling.
LAW 402 – TAX LAW (3-0-3) ECTS 6
The fundamental principles of tax law will be covered primarily as part of this course. After the basics of tax law, the
following issues will be analysed and discussed in detail: General provisions regarding all types of taxes within the Turkish
Tax Law system, the legal order to which a taxpayer will be subject to from the beginning of the tax till its payment, the
rights and responsibilities of a taxpayer, the audit of a taxpayer, rules of fighting tax loss and tax evasion, tax crimes and
sanctions and how to avoid them, tax enforcement law and general principles regarding the justice system.
BUS 422 – INTERNATIONAL FINANCE (3-0-3) ECTS 6
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the operations of global financial markets and the analysis of financial
decisions of multinational firms. By the end of this course, the student will have gained knowledge about special financial
problems of corporations operating in more than one country, including decisions to invest abroad, forecasting exchange
rates, measuring and managing exchange risk, international capital movements and portfolio diversification, the management
of international working capital and the tools used in multinational fixed asset decisions.
BUS 432 – INTERNATIONAL TRADE (3-0-3) ECTS 6
This course aims to bring together the theoretical and practical issues in international trade with special emphasis on recent
developments in international economy. International trade course will cover major theoretical approaches to international
trade, linkages to real world phenomena, as well as the most recent developments in the world economy. The aim of the
course is to equip the student to evaluate the changing world trade and financing structures, and analyze actual problems in
the world economy. Topics will cover theories of international trade, international fragmentation of production, types of
capital flows and trends in foreign direct investment and the open economy framework including balance of payments,
exchange rate determination, currency and balance of payments crises.
BUS 442 – INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL REPORTING (3-0-3) ECTS 6
This course introduces students to the framework, concepts, and practices associated with international financial reporting.
Students will develop the necessary knowledge of financial reporting and financial statement analysis to provide the sound
foundations necessary for an understanding of corporate finance.

BUS 441 – ANALYSİS OF FİNANCİAL STATEMENTS (3-0-3) ECTS 6
Aim of this course is to give knowledge to students which makes them to learn not only how to record financial transactions
but also why they are recorded and how financial reports can be used in decision-making with respect to creditors and
investors. The course content will focus on the characteristics of the techniques such as comparative financial analysis and
ratio analysis with respect to the theoretical and practical concerns.
BUS 451 – MARKETING RESEARCH (3-0-3) ECTS 6
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the design and implementation of market research by helping them to
become competent in data collection, questionnaire design and data analysis and report writing. Also to be emphasized is the
practical/applied nature of marketing research as it relates to marketing strategies. On the successful completion of this
course, students will be able to understand the nature of marketing research, choose and apply a sampling method for
different problems, devise an appropriate experiment, determine appropriate data collection methods, effectively deal with
problems arising in the process of conducting marketing research and understand and discuss implications of research.
