I note you seek access to the following information:
1. For the years
(i) 2011/12 and
(ii) 2012/13
what is the fastest speed you have recorded a vehicle to have travelled on a road
monitored by a speed camera? By “speed camera” I mean a fixed or temporary speed
camera as well as portable speed cameras operated by officers and in-car cameras that
can record the speed of other motorists.
2. What was the make and model of the vehicle and was it a police or civilian vehicle?
3. Where did the incident take place and what was the speed recorded?
4. Was the driver prosecuted? If not please provide a brief summary of the
circumstances surrounding the incident? NOTE: Some forces may have all of this
information themselves but if the force area has a Safety Camera Partnership which
holds some of the information please pass this request onto them as well.
DECISION
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you in full.
Please find attached information pursuant to your request above.
Further to your request arrangements were made to search all police records during the
time periods specified for speeding offences detected by a speed camera and offences
reported by police by means of a Fixed Penalty Notice. As detailed in the attached
spreadsheet, our records indicate that the top speed during 2011/12 was reported at
113 mph and during 2012/13 was reported at 155 mph. I can confirm that the vehicles
were not police vehicles.

looked into for the years stated above however the top speed recorded was 99mph.
