Summary:
Under the general direction of Grow Detroit’s Young Talent Project Manager, this position provides a
wide range of administrative and office support activities. Must be knowledgeable of general office
protocol, required equipment and technology, clerical/administrative procedures and systems such as
filing and recordkeeping, as well as the principles of basic office management and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
















Provide excellent customer service.
Receive and direct in-person visitors, customers, and contractors.
Executive general clerical including photocopying, fax and mailing.
Manage and maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence.
Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails.
Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings.
Prepare written responses to routine inquiries.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and make travel arrangements.
Prepare agendas for meetings and prepare schedules.
Retrieve documents for filing system.
Handle requests for information and data.
Cross-train with administrative support clerical staff to cover duties during absences, as well as
support a corporate workflow pool process.
Must have the ability to discern highly confidential materials and documents.
Attend meetings and trainings as required.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications include the following.
 Must have a high school diploma or GED and three (3) to five (5) years` progressive work
experience in lieu of an Associate’s Degree (AA). Previous or current experience
 Must demonstrate an ability to perform complex administrative or executive level administrative
work.

COMPUTER SKILLS: knowledge of relevant software; i.e., MS Office Suites
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: must have basic communication skills - written and verbal.
Must demonstrate the ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy, be able to gather information,
problem solve and assess situations, plan and organize.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking
WORK ENVIROMNENT: Office environment. Moderate noise.
LICENSES: Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License – if position requires field work.
OTHER: Background check and drug screen required.
