The Great Depression This pathfinder will help you find information about “The Great Depression,” a period in American history (1929-1939). You can also search the library’s OPAC (On-Line Public Access Catalog) to find other books in the library. The catalog is found on the computers’ desktops. The icon is labeled “Samoset Opac.” Reference Collection Use the encyclopedias located in the Reference section to look up information about The Great Depression. Electronic Databases Use the ABC-CLIO American History database accessible through the Virtual Reference Collection (VRC). You can also use the Grolier Encyclopedias (Americana, MultiMedia, New Book of Knowledge) and World Book Online databases accessible through the VRC. The VRC can be found on the library computers’ desktops. Click on the “Virtual Reference” icon or on the “Bookmarks for Samoset Library.” When you have opened the VRC, select the database you want to use and open it.
