KVOO Million Penny Morning Show Exceeds Goal
Tulsa, OK – The goal was set at One Million Pennies – it was far exceeded! Today’s KVOO 98.5, Steak N Shake,
Cherokee Casino and Woodland West Pet Resorts joined together in hopes of raising $10,000 for Therapetics Service
Dogs of Oklahoma. This morning the KVOO Morning Show, Andy ‘O’, Jean and Sunny Leigh, proudly announced that
KVOO listeners and Therapetics supporters collected 1,415,862 pennies. Short of the internal goal set by the morning
show, Andy ‘O’ and Jean donated an additional 84,138, pushing the total to 1,500,000 pennies - $15,000 dollars!
“We are very appreciative to KVOO 98.5 FM, their listeners and the sponsors of the Million Penny Morning Show.
Every penny will go toward the training of service dogs to assist Oklahomans living with physical disabilities,” said Lisa
Bycroft, Executive Director, Therapetics Service Dogs of Oklahoma. “Beyond the financial benefit to Therapetics is the
public awareness that we received during the promotion. Countless people now know about us that might not have
otherwise. In fact, we have four new applicants for service dogs and two new puppy raiser volunteers as a direct result of
the Million Penny Morning Show.”
“This is the third year for the KVOO Million Penny Morning Show. Each year the goal of One Million Pennies has been
met, but this year set a new record,” said Leigh. KVOO 98.5 along with the Million Penny Morning Show sponsors are
proud of the success and hope to continue to raise dollars and awareness for organizations in the community.
Steak-N-Shake, Cherokee Casino and Resort and Woodland West Pet Resorts sponsored the Million Penny Morning
Show this year.
