Mrs. Hendrick’s Lesson Plans Week of: March 27-31 Monday Standard/Objective: Describe the creation of the Roman Empire, including Augustus and Marc Antony Describe Roman architectural and engineering achievements 6-2.3 Describe the development of Roman civilization, including language, government, architecture, and engineering 6-2.4 Describe the expansion and transition of the Roman government from monarchy to republic to empire, including the roles of Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar (Octavian) ELA.CCSS – Literacy.RH.6.10: Read and comprehend history/social studies texts independently and proficiently 1. Teacher will discuss the creation and beliefs of the Christian religion; the internal and external threats that led to the fall of the Roman Empire; and the Byzantine Empire using the power point. 2. Students will record notes from the power point. 3. Students will compare the beliefs of Greek and Roman mythology (polytheism) with the Christian religion. 4. Students will explain why the Roman government felt threatened by the development of Christianity and the subsequent spread and acceptance of Christianity in the Roman and Byzantine Empires.
