WTCS Repository HSED 5.09 - Social Science Course Outcome Summary Course Information Description This course explores four main topics related to the social sciences: United States History, World History, Economics, and Geographic regions of the world. production, distribution, and consumption; labor, wages, and capital; inflation and deflation; market economy and command economy you compare different types of economies such as: traditional, command, market, and mixed you explain financial institutions such as: credit companies, banks, payday loan stores, and insurance companies you analyze the ways in which supply and demand, competition, prices, incentives, and profits influence what is produced and distributed in a competitive market system you explain global economic interdependence and competition, using examples to illustrate their influence on national and international policies you analyze the economic roles of institutions, such as corporations and businesses, banks, labor unions, and the Federal Reserve System Learning Objectives Describe basic economic concepts such as: supply and demand;
