Mon: STC Fall Classes Begin! Students will work on an activity with a partner, Interstate 10
Through Texas, to begin exploring distance and length. Students will begin note taking
using Distance and Length worksheet and have some guided practice. Students will
begin to explore the properties of angles in Angles, Angles, Angles! Read all about them!

1Evaluating Foundations of Geometry
Mon: First Day of School 1st Six Weeks Starts Students will be introduced to the course,
administered a course syllabus (with student expectations), be introduced to Unit 1:
Lesson 1 through the activity Looks Can Be Deceiving with Unit 1 terminology, and
receive their Geometry Diagnostic (to analyze where the students stand at this point of
the school year). (U1L1)
Tues:
Wed: Students will learn about the undefined terms (point, line, and plane) through a
discussion Taxicab Geometry, and then by writing some notes with guided practice and
have independent practice on applying them to real life through homework (Points,
Lines, and Planes). (U1L1)
Thurs:
Tues:
Wed: Students will continue to explore the properties of angles in Angles, Angles, Angles! Read
all about them! Students will have some guided practice and apply their newly acquired
knowledge about angles using Putting Angles into Practice. Students will work with a
partner on an real life application activity, A Geometric Look at the World. Remind
students to study their notes for an overview assignment on TW! (U1L1)
Thurs:
Fri: Students will be returned their geometry diagnostic. Students will individually work on
Evaluating Foundations of Geometry, as an overview of all the topics we have covered
(foundations of geometry including angles, Euclidean geometry, etc.). (U1L1)

Reasoning, Inductive
Reasoning, etc.
Tues: Students will begin with Unit 1: Lesson 2 by exploring and identifying when logic came
into being using True/False and Logic and True/False Quiz. Students will continue to

Thurs: Students will be working independently on Venn There! Done That! to assist the
students in identifying true and false statements, given a hypothesis and/or a
conclusion. Assign homework Practicing True/False and Logic. Students will continue
with logic by doing the activity On One Condition to expand their understanding and/or
comprehension of AND/OR statements, hypothesis, conclusion, etc. (U5L1)
Fri: Students will finish On One Condition.

Week 4
Sept. 12 – Sept. 16
(5 days)
New Terms: Conditional
statement, Deductive
Reasoning, Inductive
Reasoning, etc.
Tues: We will work on Conditionals in Mathematics and Inductive and Deductive Reasoning.
Assign Can You Justify It? as homework after working on certain sections in class, to
apply this logical knowledge outside of the classroom. Students will explore logic in a
real world point of view by completing the Modern Day Sherlock Holmes activity.
Remind students to study their notes for an overview assignment on RM! (U5L1)
Wed:
Thurs: Students will complete the Looking at it Logically as an overview of the lesson on logic.
There will be a class discussion and independent practice with Exploring Linear Functions
as an introduction to Unit 2: Lesson 1. (U5L1 and U2L1)
Fri: Students will work on Linear Functions with a partner, to identify slope at a review from
Algebra I, before taking off with independent work. (U2L1)
