Essential Question
 Why was the Ancient Roman Empire so successful? What factors led to their success and,
eventually, their legacy?
- Legacy: something passed on from generation to generation because of its success or
advantage. For example, laws or traditions.
Activity
 You are an Ancient Roman scholar who has been asked to create a visual guide to success
for other civilizations. Use facts and other supporting evidence to write your guide.
- Write 5-10 factors needed for a successful civilization. Think about what made Ancient Rome
successful. Draw pictures with each factor.
