Foil Heater Solu>ons Features
Carbon or Stainless Steel Fiber Foil Flexible Heater is a self-‐contained one-‐piece assembly. May provide an economic advantage for high volume applica>ons. The heater is ideally suited for area and surface hea>ng applica>ons. Power

Made in U.S.A. Sizes up to: W 32" x L 32“ (81cm x 81cm) Thin Profile Durable and Flexible Flexible High Temperatures (limited to substrate material) The maximum power is generally about 1 W/ sq. inch (.155 W/square cm) , depending on the applica@on. Slightly higher power can be generated if the ambient condi@ons and heat sink allow. By incorpora@ng sensors and controls, even higher power densi@es are achievable. Our engineers can design different sec@ons of the flexible heaters with different waI densi@es in order to compensate for edge loss on the outside perimeter of a part to supply more waIage to a given sec@on of the part. Voltage
Rated voltage below 250V, frequency from 50Hz to 60Hz, AC and DC or dual voltage sources. For example: with dual voltage, you get the same heater for 110 and 220 Volt equipment. It incorporates two circuits: 1) wired in series for the high voltage and 2) in parallel for the low voltage. Higher voltages available for custom applica@ons. Construction
Two-‐ply foil construc@on is made of the following: : Carbon or Stainless Steel Fiber Heater is welded within a thermoplas@c jacket and then bonded between two pieces of aluminum foil giving overall profile thickness (including substrate) of .01"-‐.04" (.0254 cm -‐ .102 cm). Overall thickness depends on resistance requirements and foil thickness. It could be made into various sizes or shapes. Foil can also have plas@c/rubber film, fiberglass layer or foam lamina@on, which could provide cut or tear resistance and/or thermal insula@on or etc. Thicknesses of aluminum foil ranges from .
002" to .005" (.005 cm -‐ .0127 cm). Thicker foil is available for custom applica@ons. Attachment Methods Heaters can be supplied with Pressure Sensi@ve Adhesive (PSA) for aIachment at customer loca@on. This method provides in@mate contact and superior heat transfer from the heater to the part being heated. Sensors
Heaters can be easily configured with Thermistors, RTDs, Thermocouples or Thermostats. These sensors can be mounted on the surface of the heater. Independent circuitry within the heater can be used to return the signal to the lead exit area while maintaining a desirable low profile. For addi@onal protec@on thermal cutoffs are available to provide reliable one-‐shot-‐over-‐temperature protec@on. Electrical Connection
Standard leads with insula@on including PVC, Silicone, Teflon, etc. Insula@on temperature ranges from 200°F to 482°F (80°C to 250°C). Commercially available & custom terminals can be incorporated. Agency Approvals
The heaters could be made to receive the following agency approvals: UL, CSA, TUV, CE. ISO 9001 Certified
