Robert Kauzlaric+*
(Walter) is delighted to
return to the ITC stage
after appearing in Mojo
Mickybo, Our Father,
War, and A Whistle in
the Dark, and directing
last season’s world premiere of Karen
Tarjan’s The White Road (Jeff nomination:
Production–Play, Midsize). Area acting
credits include productions with Circle
Theatre, Goodman Theatre, The Hypocrites,
Illinois Shakespeare Festival, New American
Theatre, Strawdog Theatre, Theatre at the
Center, and sixteen productions at Lifeline
Theatre (where he is also an ensemble
member), including Monstrous Regiment,
Neverwhere, and Around the World in 80
Days (Non-Equity Jeff Awards: Supporting
Actor–Play and Ensemble). This summer, he
will direct As You Like It and play Richard II
at the Michigan Shakespeare Festival.
Matthew Isler+ (Ray)
was born and raised in
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania and
studied Theatre at
Indiana University.
Matthew is a graduate
of the Second City Conservatory Program
and his credits include Mercutio in Romeo
and Juliet, Morten in Red and Green with
Akvavit Theatre, Gus in The City of Dreadful
Night, and Halldor in Akvavit’s production

of Mishap! Matthew first worked with ITC
as an understudy for the role of Nicky in
The Seafarer where he was able step in for
nine performances; he later played the role
of Dean in Lay Me Down Softly. He is now
extremely proud to call the Irish Theatre of
Chicago his artistic home. Matthew was
last seen in the ITC production of The White
Road. Matthew recently made his Directing
debut with Akvavit’s Co-Directed
production of They Died Where They Lied. As
ever, Matthew needs to thank his family for
the love and support that he has always
receives from them.
Gage Wallace (Richard)
is honored to be
onstage with ITC again
after appearing is last

Road. Gage is a proud

Company Member with Red Theater
(Chicago, Lincoln, and Omaha) as well as a
member of the Associate Ensemble with
Trap Door Theatre. Chicago Credits:

Tommy), Red Theater-Chicago (Schweyk in
the Second World War, Prochazka; Red

poet, Gage has been seen on regional and

Jeff Duhigg+ (Gordon)
is thrilled to join the
cast of In a Little World
of Our Own. Jeff is a
graduate of DePaul
University’s Theatre
School and a company
member at the Irish Theatre of Chicago. In
addition to work with the ITC, Jeff has
worked with Griffin Theatre Company,
Steep Theatre Company and several other
theaters, in Chicago. Jodi Kingsley+
(Deborah) is delighted
to be making her ITC
debut. Recent local
credits include Griffin
(The Birds, Men Should
Weep - Jeff Award: Best
Ensemble), Remy Bumppo (Travesties - Jeff
nomination: Best Production), as well as
work with Kokandy, TrapDoor, and
Rivendell, among others. Regional work
includes Houston’s Shaw Festival and Main
Street Theater, the Los Angeles Actor’s
Forum, and The HBO/Warner Bros
Workspace. She can currently be seen in
the recurring role of Madeline Gastern on
NBC’s Chicago Med, and is represented by
Big Mouth Talent. Sincere thanks to Jeri,
the cast, crew, and entire ensemble of ITC
- and to the ever-patient Mr. Kingsley who
could use a drink if you see him at the bar.
PRODUCTION TEA M BIOGR APHIES
Gary Mitchell (Playwright) was born in
Rathcoole, North Belfast in 1965. In 1990,
his first radio play won a BBC Radio 4
Young Playwrights Festival Award, and in
1995 won the Stewart Parker Award. In
1998, In A Little World of Our Own won the
Irish Times Theatre Award for best new play
and was performed for the Abbey Theatre’s
first visit to the Lyric, Belfast. Also in 1998,
he won the Belfast Drama Award for In A
Little World of Our Own and Sinking, and
was made Writer in Residence at the Royal
National Theatre, London. He has gone on
to win the Pearson Best New Play prize for
Trust, and for The Force of Change both the
George Devine Award and the Evening
Standard Charles Wintour Award for Most
Promising Playwright. Other plays include
Remnants of Fear, Suicide Blonde, Love
Matters, Re-energize and Demented, which
was just presented at the Lyric Theatre
in Belfast. In 2001, Mitchell adapted his
play As the Beast Sleeps for the screen and
filmed by BBC.
Jeri Frederickson+ (Director) is the
Associate Artistic Director of Irish Theatre
of Chicago, formerly Seanachaí Theatre,
and a proud ensemble member also
serving as literary manager. She calls
Chicago home as a writer, director, and
curator. Recent collaborators include: Stone
Soup Shakespeare, Whiskey Rebellion,
Artemisia, ITC, and 20% Theatre Company.
Jeri is a freelance editor and has worked
for such journals as Thought Collection and
was the lead editor for the novel Frederic
Leon with Urban Folk Books. She received
the Brad Williams Memorial Award just
before graduating Hope College with a
B.A. in Theatre and Creative Writing. Her
writing has recently been published online
and in print with Vines Leaves and Thought
Collection.
Jen Bukovsky+* (Production Stage
Manager) is excited to be a member of
the ITC ensemble, having recently stage
managed My Brilliant Divorce, The White

Road, Lay Me Down Softly and Shining City.
She is also an ensemble member of the
Den Theatre and her other Chicago stage
management credits include: The Drawer
Boy and Hank Williams: Lost Highway with
Filament Theatre Ensemble, and Faith
Healer and Quality of Life with the Den
Theatre. Previously, she stage managed for
the Roanoke Children’s Theater and worked
as a stage manager and video editor for
the Miss Virginia Pageant. Jen has a B.A.
in Directing and Dramatic Literature from
Christopher Newport University.
Thomas Dixon (Sound Designer) is an
artistic associate of Steep Theatre, where
he has designed Brilliant Adventures,
Martyr, A Small Fire, Luther, and the
upcoming Wastwater. Other recent and
upcoming credits include: Cocked, Rest,
The Whale (Victory Gardens); This is Modern
Art (Steppenwolf ); The Raid, Crumble (Lay
Me Down, Justin Timberlake), Exit Strategy
(Jackalope); Mosque Alert (Silk Road Rising);
Northanger Abbey (Remy Bumppo). Thomas
is a member of the Theatrical Sound
Designers and Composers Association, and
he teaches at Columbia College Chicago.

to be working with Irish Theatre of Chicago
again where he previously understudied
roles in The White Road and The Seafarer
and also stage managed their production
of Hughie. In Chicago he has appeared on
stage in Fanny’s First Play with 20% Theatre
and in A Muse in Love and Crossing Six
Corners with Filament Theatre Ensemble.
Ian is originally from Idaho where he’s
toured with the Idaho Shakespeare
Festival’s production of H.G Wells: The
Science of Fiction and graduated from Boise
State University.
Kathy Logelin (Dialect Coach) Kathy is
thrilled to be working with ITC again,
having acted in War many moons ago.

Recent coaching credits include Treasure
Island and Moby Dick with Lookingglass
Theatre Company, The Mutilated with
A Red Orchid Theatre, The Rainmaker
with American Blues, Last Train to Nibroc
with Haven Theatre and Persuasion with
Chamber Opera Chicago at the Edinburgh
Festival Fringe. Kathy holds a B.S. in Acting
from Illinois State University, and is a
Rivendell Theatre Ensemble company
member.
Smooch Medina (Lighting Designer)
is excited to be working with The
Irish Theatre Company for the second
time, having previously worked on
their production of The White Road for
which he received a Joseph Jefferson
nomination (Best Projection Design).
Some of his recent credits include
Projections for The Other Place with
Profiles Theater, RENT with Hemmens
Cultural Center, Down the Moonlit Path
with Nothing Without a Company and
most recently he worked with Chicago
Tap Theater designing projections for
their production of Tightwire. Upcoming
projects include Cinderella with Hinsdale
Dance Company and Next to Normal with
Hemmens Cultural Center. Smooch is the
Head of Lighting and Projection Design,
Technology and Education for Midwest
Event Solutions as well as the Senior
Stage Technician for Hemmens Cultural
Center. Smooch received a BFA in lighting
design from Columbia College Chicago SmoochDesign.com
Elizabeth Shorrock (Costume Designer)
Elizabeth (Beth) earned a BFA and a MAT
from the Rhode Island School of Design.
She is an entrepreneur with over 15 years
experience as a clothing and textile print
designer. Her company designed and
produced clothing, textiles and accessories
which were sold to retail stores throughout
the US and Canada as well as developing
her own lifestyle retail stores in Newport,

Providence, Watch Hill and Block Island,
RI and Mystic, CT. Beth has taught fashion
design at the University of Rhode Island,
Syracuse University and currently at
Columbia College Chicago. Recently, Beth
has expanded her design skills to creating
costumes for productions by the Chicago
Academy for the Arts, Midsommer Flight
and Edge of the Wood Theater. Beth is
extremely interested in ethical production,
sustainable practices and the utilization of
waste and surplus materials.

Merje Veski*** (Scenic Designer, Painter)
Merje is honored to be part of an ITC
production again. Recently, she designed
The White Road and few years ago A
Moon for the Misbegotten, both Jeff award
nominated for scenic design. She was also
co-designer for Shining City. She is actively
working in the Chicago film community
as a set designer and art director. Her
credits include Sinister 2, Jupiter Ascending,
Chicago Fire, Contagion and Public Enemies.
