‘Brilliant, inspired;
an extraordinary theatrical adventure’
Dear Teacher,
New York Post
This Spring the acclaimed Touring Consortium Theatre Company, producers of
‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, will be bringing another classic text to theatres across
the UK. Directed by Nikolai Foster and featuring Christopher Timothy as Otto
Frank, The Diary of Anne Frank will bring all the sentiments of Anne Frank’s
original diary to life onstage, in an epic and visually stunning new production.
As with all Touring Consortium Theatre Company productions, The Diary
of Anne Frank will be accompanied by a variety of excellent education and
participation events which are the perfect aid to support and enhance your
classroom teaching.
Anne Frank’s famous diary charts two years of her life from 1942 to 1944. This
extraordinary personal account of hope, courage and survival has united and
touched people worldwide.
Whilst hidden from the Nazis with her Jewish
family in a secret annex in Amsterdam, Anne
documented her hopes, frustrations and day
to day experiences in confinement.

This Pulitzer prize winning play dramatises Anne’s wry observations of herself and her
companions in the most hostile of environments.
A dramatic and heartbreaking story, this adaptation includes material that had originally
been censored by Otto Frank, and marks the 60th anniversary of the diary’s
publication in English.
‘impeccably sensitive...superb’
The Touring Consortium Theatre Company has gained an enviable
reputation for its high quality, large-scale touring productions and for
the range and quality of education work which accompanies them.
Previous productions include To Kill A Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men
and The Crucible.
We have a commitment to making each of our productions accessible
to as wide an audience as possible and strongly believe in engaging
with and developing young people’s experiences and attitudes towards
literature and theatre production. In line with this we have expanded
our Creative Learning Programme and are now offering in-school and
teacher training workshops to accompany The Diary of Anne Frank,
alongside our usual venue based activity. We also now offer year round
in-schools workshops based on To Kill a Mockingbird and Of Mice and
Men. For more information on our year round activity please contact our
Participation Producer Laura Sutton on [email protected]
