SPEED OF LIGHT 2-18-15 WEEK 1 -Lucas for StuCo President THE POINT There is a lot of pressure to succeed as a teenager. You don’t have to do anything for God to love you more; He loves you as you are. LEADER NOTES There are a lot of pressures and expectations on teenagers these days. Help your students identify some of the biggest pressures they face, and help them discover how they can give them over to God. Also, a lot of teenagers think that they have to do the right things to earn God’s love. Help them come to the conclusion that God loves them as they are, and they should want to do good because they love Him back. 1. What did you think about week one of Speed of Light? What did you like? What didn’t you like? What did you identify with most? 2. How can you relate to Lucas’ situation? What would you say are some of the biggest pressures or stresses students your age face? What are some of the high expectations society and people place on you? LEADER NOTES When something like a breakup happens in the life of a teenager, it can seem like the end of their lives to them. Help them to discover what a healthy perspective is and can look like, which will ultimately help them learn what a godly perspective looks like as it’s lived out. 1. LEADER NOTES Help your students identify the ways they could be living their life leaving a mark and making a difference.
