Groundbreaking for the next building expansion at KOCH Pac-Systeme headquarters in
Pfalzgrafenweiler
The Black Forest manufacturer of specialty machinery is constantly growing. With the groundbreaking
on 24th April, the management started the third phase of construction of the company expansion in the
Schornzhardt industrial park of Pfalzgrafenweiler, Germany. Total investment for the expansion project
is around 5 million Euros.
A healthy order situation, new customer requirements and the increasing number of employees
(nearly 60 percent during the last 4 years) have made the expansion necessary. Expanding on the
existing building complex, the additional 3,500 square meters space shall be used for production
assembly floor space, office space, employee common areas, technical services and meeting rooms.
The previous assembly area will essentially be doubled in size. In addition, the parking areas will be
extended by 1,400 square meters to accommodate the additional employees and visitors. The
production in the new company building shall start in January, 2016. Similar to the first two
construction phases (2009 and 2012) the complete project is designed according to the latest
environmental standards. The heating is supplied completely by bioenergy of the heating and power
station in Pfalzgrafenweiler.
The company belonging to the Uhlmann group currently employs 270 people, the sales volume last
year increased by 13 percent to around 35 million Euros. The prospects for the future are promising
for the continued growth and increased manufacturing of blister packaging machines.
