TYPE ANSWERS FOR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE READING BELOW
1. The form of a substance changes during a physical change. However, the
composition of the substance does not.
2. Two physical changes that I can observe in my home are ripping a sheet of
paper in half and adding salt to water and watching it dissolve.
3. During a chemical change, both the form and composition of the substance
changes.
4. Two chemical changes that I can observe in my home are burning a candle
and baking a cake.
5. A chemical change occurs when bread is toasted. This is because by
toasting bread, you add other substances to it. Also, you cannot easily
"untoast" a piece of toast.
6. The difference of mass between a log and a small pile of ash that the log
would burn into would be equal to the amount of gases that are lost into
the air during the burning process.
