Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief

Well, if you do, Percy Jackson is a great series to read. The first book is called "The Lightning Thief."
It is an introduction to the characters and sets up the plot to the rest of the series. In this story Percy
arrives at Half-Blood Hill, a special protected camp for demigods. He meets Annabeth, the daughter
of Athena and Grover, a Satyr or a protecter. He also meets Luke, the son of Hermes and Chiron
trainer of the gods. The leader of the camp is Zeus's son. Percy never knew his father. As Percy gets
acclimated to the camp, everyone tries to make him feel at home. Then, when they play Capture the
Flag, Percy falls in the water while fighting. Suddenly he feels rejuvenated. He would go on to win the
battle and the game for his team. Meanwhile, he now knew his father was, Poseidon, ruler of the
seas.
Chiron was now convinced Percy
was part of the prophecy. So, he sends Percy to the
attic to see the Oracle. It told Percy that he should go
west and face the god who had turned, you should
find what was stolen and have it returned,you shall be
betrayed by the one who calls you friend, and you
shall fail to save what matters most in the end. After
this, Chiron gives Percy a quest. To bring back Zeus's
master lightning bolt. Percy brings along Grover and
Annabeth and they embark on a dangerous journey.
They travel to the Underworld and talk to Hades and
find out that his magical invisibility helm of darkness
has also been stolen. Percy finds out that the old Titan
King ,Kronos, is preparing to rise and destroy
everyone. So Percy and his friends face Ares, the God
of War, and Percy with the help of the water, wins.
Then, Percy returns Zeus's lightning bolt and Hades
helm of darkness. He talks to his father who says he
has served him well. Percy is overjoyed as is his
mother.
When he gets back to Camp
Half-Blood, Luke takes him into the woods. He reveals
that he works for Kronos and will help him rise. Luke is the one who betrays Percy. Percy then faints.
He wakes up and everyone is around him. He decides he will go home to his mother and come back
to camp next year and with Annabeth and Grover to help defeat Kronos. Then, with Percy saying
farewell to Camp Half-Blood, the book ends. This is an amazing story and I do recommend reading
it. What do you think will happen next? We will soon find out in "The Sea of Monsters."
