Throughout the book you will find these icons. 1. SEARCH BY ATLAS PAGE NUMBER ^ Pag e n u m b e r pu ll-down m e n u. If you find an icon in the atlas and want to go directly to that link, use the page number pull-down menu. Just drag and click. 2. SEARCH BY TOPIC _LIST OF TOPICS. If you want to explore a specific topic, click on the entry in the topic list. This list is your portal to vast quantities of National PHOTOS VIDEO AUDIO Geographic information, photos, videos, games, and GAMES Creature Features. Click to more, all arranged by subject. Say you’re interested go to the National Geographic Kids’ in Animals. One click takes you to the Animals animal site. Click on an animal, and choice page (below). you will find a full feature about it, including photos, video, a range map, and other fun info. _ Some icons are placed near pictures. There are photographs, statistics, quick facts and—most of all— lots of detailed maps and charts. And the companion Web site adds even more. You can watch videos of animals in their natural surroundings, listen to animal sounds and to music from many different cultures, find lots of country information, download pictures and maps for your school reports, play games that allow you to explore the world interactively, and even send e-postcards to your friends. This choice takes you to the animal site for adults and older kids. Use the list of animals in the upper right-hand corner of the page. there takes you to the profile of that animal. 3. SEARCH BY ICON ^ Select one of four icons. If you want to find all the videos referenced in the atlas, or all of the audios, photos, or games, click on one of the icons. A list will drop down.
