GRADING CRITERIA AND CALCULATION OF GPA
The grading criteria will focus on generic skills and attributes that underpin that unit(s) of
competency. Grading criteria will be determined for specified SGA Learning Units with a
nominal duration of thirty or more hours and will be included within the relevant Facilitator
Guide.
Grading criteria outcomes:

Competency attained;

Performance with Merit; and

Performance with Distinction.
The grade derived from the total point score is applied to all units of competency within the
cluster, and will only be advised on identification of competency for all units within the cluster.
Clusters that are deemed not suitable for grading will be recorded as ‘Competency Attained
(Ungraded)’.
