Introduction
The galaxy of Centaurus A is the closest radio galaxy to Earth, and contains a black hole
with a mass equivalent to 55 million times that of our own sun. This black hole ejects a jet
of electromagnetic energy in the form of X-ray and radio waves that are over a million light
years in length. This wonder of the universe serves as the inspiration for the latest work
by composer Jason T. Shannon in the creation of the CENTAURUS A game music
collection. Cosmic textures ranging from tranquil to suspenseful make CENTAURUS A
the perfect musical companion of science fiction gameplay. Rich orchestral
instrumentation combined with the analog warmth of vintage keyboards and classic
synthesizers give this library a unique sound that is organic and edgy. You’ll find
everything in this library to support your gameplay, ranging from the ethereal themes to
mysterious textures to driving action sequences.
Static, through-composed cues are included, but you can also create your own dynamic
versions of those cues that change with gameplay by using the included construction loops
(see the track listing below for more details).
KEY FEATURES

NOTES FROM THE COMPOSER
This music was written and produced between September-December 2015. It
features musical cues written and produced in my home studio in Atlanta, GA. These are
largely orchestral sketches with a heavy dose of electronic synthesizers and analog
keyboards. These sketches are largely inspired by the music I experienced as a kid as an
avid video game fanatic and certified computer nerd (Commodore 64 and Amiga 500
were my machines of choice). It contains other influences as well, with hints of progressive
rock, krautrock, electronic/experimental and 20th century orchestral music. This project
was released on December 09, 2015. I hope you enjoy Centaurus A!
