How to prepare for a DBA in World History?
Things to keep in mind:



All classes have standards that must be mastered BEFORE a DBA.
Mastery occurs when you read the entire lessons and have completed your Travel Journal notes with accuracy

-In what ways did we copy the Republic of Rome to our

-What are the 3 different branches of government and what
roles do they play in Ancient Rome and today?
-What is the difference between direct democracy and
representative (indirect) democracy?
-What does the social pyramid of ancient Rome look like?
-Based on the social pyramid, what was everyone’s role in
society? (men, women, children, upper class, middle class,
lower class/slaves)
-How did Rome’s size contribute to its economy and society?
-What parts of the world did Rome stretch to and how did this
affect their culture?
-Why did the Roman Republic fall? What reasons led to its
decline?
-Who are the following people and what did they do form
Rome (small sample): Caesar, Nerva, Hadrian, Sulla, Octavian,
Alaric, Odaocer, etc…
-How was life different from people in the Republic versus like
in the Empire?
-What are the main reasons why Rome stood as a super
power for so long?
-Based on Rome’s growth, how did this change Europe?
-Why did the Western Roman Empire begin to decline after
the Pax Romana (hint: after Marcus Aurelius’ rule)
