World Civilizations: Global Experience, fifth edition. Pearson. (If you would like to purchase one on your own on the web) Some students like to highlight and write in theirs, and you will not be able to do that with the textbook that will be issued to you in August. Another optional purchase, which is highly recommended, is the AP Test Practice booklet: “Cracking the AP World History Exam” The Princeton Review. This workbook has practice tests in it and summaries of the chapters, along with vocabulary, it will also help you with your summer assignment. Summer Assignment: (1) research any of the 8 major religions, they are attached to the rubric below (2) it is a RESEARCH paper, you are to use written and electronic resources, cite them using MLA format, and answer the prompt given (3) attached also is 3 chapters that will not be covered in class, you must do the reading on your own, and answer the questions or define the terms (4) you will need to handwrite the terms, number them as they are, and either underline or highlight the term (5) the paper and the terms are all due on Friday, August 18 th Supplies needed for class: - 3-Prong, 2-pocket Folders – need 5 of them (1 for each quarter/1 for essays) - 3 Dividers/separators for your essay folder - loose leaf paper – A LOT of it - pens (NO pencils allowed and NO pink ink allowed) - 2 different color highlighters Good luck with the readings, and do not hesitate to email me any questions!
