BLOODVESSELS TENDON CARTILAGE–Examinethetopofthelargebone.Locateapearly whitehardtissuefoundattheendsofthelongbones.Thisis cartilage. 2 CARTILAGE LAB BONE–Cutthroughthemusclewithyour scissorstoexposethe hardwhitebone.Bonesarehard(butnot solid)tissuemadeup primarilyofcalciumandphosphorus.The scissorswillnotbeable tocross-sectthebone.Asktheinstructorto cutthebone.Lookinto thecross-sectionofthebone;themassofred tissueisredmarrow.It istheredmarrowthatmanufacturesred CROSSSECTIONOFBONE MARROW bloodcells.Noticethebonesurroundingthe redmarrow.Theboneitselfinnotsolid,butisanasymmetricallatticeworkofcalciumand phosphorus.
