Fierce Forming
Have you ever wondered how volcanoes work, form,
and if they are on different planets? Well today you will find out.
Where do volcanoes form and how do they form?
Volcanoes form where tectonic plates meet (they would rub
together and a volcano will form). They also form when a plate
moves under a hotspot. That’s where volcanoes form and how
they form
How many volcanoes are on Hawaii? There are five
volcanoes on the big island of Hawaii. Two of these volcanoes
are Kilauea and Mona Loa.

Volcanoes saved the Earth. They melted the ice during
the ice age. The ice melted because of the carbon dioxide that
trapped the heat to melt the ice.
How long has Kilauea been erupting? Kilauea has
been erupting for over 100 years.
What are the most active volcanoes? Mona Loa and
Kilauea are 2 of the most active volcanoes on Earth.
There are 3 types of volcanoes. The 3 types are active,
dormant, and extinct.
There are 4 shapes of volcanoes. Those 4 are cinder cone
volcanoes, shield volcanoes, composite volcanoes, and lava dome
volcanoes. Volcanoes are also on different planets and they are
also on moons. They are on Mars,Venus, and one of Jupiter’s
moons, Io. That how volcanoes work, form, and that they are on
different planets.

Violent Volcanoes
Can volcanoes blow their top off ? Well they can.
Mount St. Helens did when it roared with fury. It erupted with
the power of 10 tons of dynamite. Or they can make new holes
in them.
Volcanoes change a lot. Volcanoes can change from
active to dormant or dormant to active. But their last change is
to extinct.
Can volcanoes cause other natural disasters. Yes they
can. They can cause floods, avalanches, mud slides, earthquakes,
and tsunamis. That’s the natural disasters that volcanoes can
cause.

What People Think About Volcanoes
Do you think volcanos can be good or bad? Well,
Volcanoes can be good. Volcanoes can create islands. They can
also make good soil for growing crops.
Volcanoes are destructive. They have killed many
people and buried whole cities. They have also blown islands out
of existence. So now do you think volcanoes are good or bad?

What Can You Do When A Volcano Erupts?
What can you do when a volcano erupts? You can dig
a trench around the town or city as deep as you can to stop the
advancing lava.
How do you stay safe from a volcano? You should
evacuate the area. Or you can go to a place you think is safe.
That’s what you can do when a volcano erupts.

About the Author
Samuel P. is a 4th grader at lIes, and is the author of this
book. He has a brother named Owen in 2nd grade, also at Iles.
Samuel likes to do science and math. He also has a rock
collection. He had a fun time doing this story about volcanoes.
He hopes you like the book he wrote about volcanoes.
