Biometric Screening
Convenient, first-class
screenings at your location
Health Advocate’s Biometric Screening Program is an important first
step toward improving the health of your employees and reducing
healthcare costs.
The data it extracts delivers an accurate health risk baseline, providing key insight into the
health of your population… and enabling more targeted health management initiatives and
tracking of results over time.
Serving organizations of all sizes across the U.S., we offer a broad selection of customizable
screenings and other services, all designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients, including
those with remote staff and multiple locations.
All screening services are administered by our trained staff of
registered nurses, EMTs, paramedics and health educators, each
one dedicated to providing a personalized, first-class experience.
How Healthy is Your Organization?
Many health problems are preventable. They are also more treatable—and less costly—when detected early.
For many employers, empowering employees to take control of their health is a key part of their wellness and
cost control strategies.
Health Advocate’s onsite Biometric Screening Program offers professional biometric screenings and other
related services to employers of all sizes that can be customized to meet their needs and budget. This turnkey
service lets employees “know their numbers” and their risk for preventable diseases such as diabetes, heart
disease and hypertension… motivating them to take action to reduce their risks and improve their health.
For employers, it provides strategic baseline data to help shape their wellness initiatives.
Each phase of the process is coordinated by our professional staff, from planning to reporting. Best of all,
our national footprint ensures a consistent, seamless experience across your entire organization.

Can a bowl of oatmeal help prevent a heart attack? How about a handful of
walnuts or a couple of fresh figs? By making simple tweaks to your diet, you
can significantly lower your LDL cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol) that clogs
the arteries and protects your heart.

Help for High
Blood Pressure
Take a big picture view of your diet, then make small
changes. For example, first reduce your intake of
saturated fats, such as those in red meat, hard cheeses
and fried foods. Contrary to popular belief, eating foods
that are high in cholesterol (eggs and shrimp) does not
raise your blood level’s cholesterol. It’s the saturated fat
that does the harm.
Go nuts!
Walnuts and almonds also have been shown to positively
impact cholesterol levels. They are rich in polyunsaturated
fatty acids (Omega 9 fats). All nuts loaded with calories,
so limit your intake to a handful (1/3 C = 240 calories).
You’ll get the most out of these fatty acids if you eat them
in place of foods high in saturated fats. For example,
instead of using cheese or meat in your salad, add a
handful of walnuts or almonds.

Just thinking about quitting may make you anxious.
But your chances will be better if you get ready first.
Quitting works best when you’re prepared. Before you
quit, START by taking these five important steps:
S = Set a quit date
T = Tell family, friends and coworkers that you
plan to quit
A = Anticipate and plan for the challenges you’ll face
while quitting
R = Remove cigarettes and other tobacco products
from your home, car and work
T = Talk to your doctor about getting help to quit
