THAT’S BECAUSE IT TOOK THE LIGHT 10 YEARS TO GET TO OUR EYES. IF IT EXPLODED, WE WOULDN’T KNOW FOR 10 YEARS!!! WHY ARE LIGHT YEARS USED? TO MEASURE DISTANCES IN SPACE. STARS AND GALAXIES ARE TOO FAR AWAY! INSTEAD OF SAYING 10 KAJILLION BILLION TRILLION MILES, IT’S EASIER TO SAY 100 LIGHT YEARS. WHY DO SOME SAY ASTRONOMY IS LIKE STUDYING THE PAST? BECAUSE WE ARE SO FAR AWAY FROM OTHER STARS AND GALAXIES, WE DO NOT SEE THINGS UNTIL AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED YEARS AGO!!!
