It’ hard to believe the Summer Solstice has passed, the days
are getting shorter and summer’s half gone! It has been an
enjoyable summer on the lake with great weather and good
lake conditions. We enjoyed the TAMS Boat Parade and Picnic
with the highest attendance ever and it was a pleasure to
celebrate the great 4th of July holiday with our lake
neighborhood. The lake’s natural beauty continues to delight
and it is fun to see that many cottages and cabins are being
renovated and updated. The shore owners who sprayed for
Curly Leaf Pondweed have attractive shorelines and less
surface matting and algae present this year. We are in the
process of spraying for Eurasian Water Milfoil and hope to
control this nuisance lake weed. Zebra mussels have been
found in Clearwater Lake, but so far no sign of this in MinkSomers. We do have Boat Ramp Monitors to check for invasive
species in an effort to keep them out of our lake. Again a
reminder to join our guest speaker, Naturalist Stan Tekiela for
the MSLID Annual Meeting Saturday August 1st at 9:00 AM at
the Corinna Township Hall, 9801 Ireland. Hope to see you
there! Tim, Chair, MSLID
Our thanks to all of the
volunteers who helped make
the Annual 4th of July event a
