Mid-East Prophecy Update – August 5th, 2012
- For today’s prophecy update I want to talk about how that Jerusalem has seemingly become the focal point of the entire world yet again.
- I’ll take it a step further and submit that the Jerusalem problem has risen to the level of being the most serious problem facing the world today.
- So much so, that it has now become the main reason we are witnessing the situation in the Middle East getting more dangerous by the hour.
Zechariah 12:1-3 KJV The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the
foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. (2) Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round
about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. (3) And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone
for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
- I have been following this particular prophecy for well over twenty years now, and managed by the grace of God to save an article from 1995.
17 years ago the LA Times published an article with the headline reading verbatim how Zechariah’s prophecy reads; “Jerusalem is the Stumbling
Block to Peace” Here are a few excerpts from this article; “…This is the issue that will keep the fires hot well into the next century, probably beyond
the time… In fact, the issue of Jerusalem probably never will be solved. It is too ingrained in passion; in religion. … In the 28 years of Israeli control,
all three major Western religions have been admitted to their Jerusalem holy sites, disrupted occasionally by moments of both impromptu and
calculated violence, which required rigid management. Jerusalem always has been and will continue to be a powder keg of emotion.”
- What’s interesting about the article is, it hits the proverbial nail on the head in identifying the “why” behind the “what” of the Jerusalem problem.
- More specifically, the reason why it is what it is; is the three main world religions all lay claims to Jerusalem, of which only two of them are true.
- I’m speaking of course about Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in that order. The problem is that Islam is false and thus Jerusalem a false claim.
- As a matter of fact, the word “Jerusalem” is not mentioned even one time in the Qur’an, despite attempts by Muslims to interpret texts otherwise.
- Furthermore, the quest for a “Palestinian” state living side by side in “peace and security,” is a lie from the pit of hell from the father of lies himself.
- While I realize I’m speaking boldly, what I’m speaking is the truth, in love, as God so loves the Muslim people that He sent His only begotten son.
- In the interest of time, I won’t take the time to go into all the reasons that only Judaism and Christianity can lay legitimate claims to Jerusalem.
- So, suffice it to say, that one very compelling reason for this bold truth is because of what’s inside the Dome of the Rock, aka, the Musk of Omar.
- Inscribed on the interior walls in my native tongue of Arabic are the words “God the Everlasting, who has not begotten and has not been begotten.
- Be that as it may, I believe that Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital, is now once and for all the final focus of a world that’s ripe for the Anti-Christ.
- In my humble opinion, we need look no further to any other prophetic indicator, as to how close we are to the rapture, than the city of Jerusalem.
- At the risk of sound provocative and even sensational, please consider the following reports, starting with two that I shared with you just last week.
This first one was about white house spokesman Jay Carney’s uncanny unwillingness to identify the capital of Israel after being questioned for
nearly a minute amidst only nervous laughter.

The second was about the Olympics websites retraction of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital saying only that it’s their “seat of government,” then
qualifying it further by stating; “though most foreign embassies are in Tel Aviv.”

I happened upon a very interesting post from a Facebook friend titled, The Olympics’ Burdensome Stone. - “The Olympics are a little microcosm of
the world. The entire 2012 event is hostile to Israel. We can start with Israel's capital, Jerusalem. It was handed over to "Palestine" at the start of
the Olympics. Then the International Olympic Committee (IOC) moved Jerusalem to her proper place -- Israel -- but then got cold feet! To avoid all
conflict, the IOC removed the name of the capitals of all participating nations so they could be seen as politically correct. … So the IOC was
temporarily fine with recognizing a capital in the wrong location and is also fine with recognizing a nation that doesn't exist -- Palestine. This nation
that really isn't a nation joined the Olympics in 1996 and they proudly march in the procession of nations, much to the protests of the Israelis.
Besides, who cares if Israel is objecting? In the eyes of most, she's an apartheid-promoting reckless state. Whoever would have thought that a
nation smaller than a postage stamp placed on a giant globe could cause such alarming events and reactions? And that troubling city to which
Jesus will return to rule and reign -- Jerusalem -- has become that prophesied burdensome stone once again.”
- Now, let’s rewind our Jerusalem DVD back to May 1st of this year prior to the election of one Muhammad Mursi in of all places, Isaiah 19’s Egypt.
It’s by Memri TV and the video was titled; … Muslim Brotherhood Presidential Candidate Will Liberate Jerusalem.” The description reads;
“Muhammad Mursi Will Restore the "United States of the Arabs" with Jerusalem as its Capital.” Screaming and singing before thousands of
Egyptians, they chant; “Our cry shall be: ‘Millions of martyrs march toward Jerusalem.”

- The reason I bring this into the discussion is it’s compatible with the Islamic writings about a coming Muslim savior with Jerusalem as his capital.
It’s by Ibn Khaldun and titled, “al-Muqqadima,” here’s what it declares, "... There will come forth a man from my nation who will talk according to my
Sunnah. God will send upon him rain from heaven, and the earth will sprout forth for him its blessing. The earth will be filled through him with equity
and justice, as it has been filled with injustice and crime. He will direct the affairs of this nation for seven years, and he will settle in Jerusalem."
- Could it be that Zechariah’s prophecy concerning Jerusalem is being fulfilled right before our very eyes in real time? I believe the answer is yes!
- I want to close with a New Testament passage that I had every intention beginning with last week, but simply ran out of time before I go to it.
- It’s found in the Apostle Peter’s second epistle, chapter three, and verses ten through fourteen, so if you would please, turn there at this time.
2 Peter 3:10-14 NIV But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire,
and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. (11) Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You
ought to live holy and godly lives (12) as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the
heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. (13) But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new
earth, the home of righteousness. (14) So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless,
blameless and at peace with him.
