Family values are what a man believes about his family. What a man believes is what
he does. Jesus said, "My family values the will and purpose as decreed by my father.
Every family has values. They do the will of their father. Gods family honours his
instruction. The word devil is from the Greek root daio meaning "to distribute fortunes".
Satan, the god of this world (II Cor. 4:4) distributes the desires of the flesh to his
family. Jesus said that his family desires to do the will of his father. God says that
accidental abortion (in a struggle) with death of the baby was punishable, "life for life".
(Ex. 21:22,23). Homosexuality was punishable by death. "If a man Iieth with mankind
as he Iieth with a woman- they shall surely be put to death". Adultery was punishable
by death as well as incest (Lev. 20:10-13). Disobedient and unruly children who struck
or cursed their parents were put to death (Ex. 21: 15-17). God said that he will make
war against proud men. Jesus commanded us to agonize and struggle against sin.
Christian family values are according to these words and much more found in the
Bible. The devils family values this world. Father in the Hebrew is the word Ab
meaning "The decider" or"' desire". The word son is the word ben (Heb.) or bar (Gr.)
meaning one who shares in the authority (will) of the father by doing his will (I desire).
Those who value their family, value the will of their father. Value means to pay a fair or
proper equivalent in money or goods. Jesus has bought and paid for his family with his
blood that they should live for him, Paul said, "--ye are not your own - for ye are
bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are
Gods (I Cor. 6:19,20). The family you value is seen in the things you do and how you
live. The word honour is the Greek word "time" (pronounced tee-may) meaning to
value or to pay a price. The family of God honours and keeps his commandments
(John 14:15).
