Cell Cycle and Mitosis

Cell Cycle…
• Sketch this Cell Cycle Diagram in your notebook, or on a notecard
• Label each “pie piece” using your notes from yesterday.
Write the description of each phase of mitosis in your notebook
(leave a blank space after description) or on the lined side of a
notecard.
Draw the following diagram of Interphase in your notebook or on half of the
blank side of your Interphase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
Draw the following diagram of Interphase in your notebook or on the other half of
the blank side of your Interphase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
This is what a plant cell in interphase actually looks like…
Draw the following diagram of Prophase in your notebook or on half of the blank
side of your Prophase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
Draw the following diagram of Prophase in your notebook or on the other half of the
blank side of your Prophase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
This is what a plant cell in prophase actually looks like…
Draw the following diagram of Metaphase in your notebook or on half of the
blank side of your Metaphase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
Draw the following diagram of Metaphase in your notebook or on the other half of
the blank side of your Metaphase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
This is what a plant cell in metaphase actually looks like…
Draw the following diagram of Anaphase in your notebook or on half of the
blank side of your Anaphase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.
Draw the following diagram of Anaphase in your notebook or on the other half of the
blank side of your Anaphase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.

Draw the following diagram of Telophase in your notebook or on half of the
blank side of your Telophase notecard. Don’t forget the labels…very important.

Cytokinesis looks a little different in animals and plants, but the same
thing is happening…DIVISION OF THE CYTOPLASM.
Formation of Cell Plate (cellulose) in plants indicates cytokinesis is happening…
Formation of Cleavage Furrow in animals indicates cytokinesis is happening.
In summary… this is mitosis:
More examples of what mitosis looks like with really great diagrams and
