Candida Albicans
Our anti-Candida formula is powerful enough to be used on its own to address
Candida overgrowth, and flexible enough to be used within the context of a Candida
elimination program (such as Vitazan Professional’s Candida Albicans Program).
Candida Albicans includes:
Grapefruit Seed Extract
Inhibits the proliferation of Candida. Grapefruit seed extract is commonly reported to have
powerful antimicrobial activity. It has been shown to have potent antifungal activity against
yeasts and molds, including Candida spp.
Echinacea purpurea Root
Acts as an immune-system stimulant. Echinacea is highly recommended as an immunesystem stimulant to boost the resistance against colds, flu, yeast, and bladder infection,
and other infectious conditions. It has been vastly studied, alone and in combination, for
immune-system stimulation including clinical studies on infections, wound healing, clod,
upper respiratory tract infection, urogenital infections, candidiasis, and gynaecological
infections.
Caprylic Acids (Magnesium, Calcium, Zinc)
Have an antifungal activity (yeast) activity. Caprylic acid has antifungal properties, and is often
recommended by nutritionists for the treatment of candidiasis. It is a naturally occurring
fatty acid that has antifungal action against systemic Candida infections. Caprylic acid is a
medium-chain, 8‑carbon saturated fatty acid; it is also known as octanoic acid. It occurs naturally in butterfat as well as palm and
coconut oils in the form of triacylglycerols. Caprylic acid was reported many years ago to have some antifungal activity in vitro.
Other in vitro studies showed some activity against some viruses and bacteria. The monoglyceride of caprylic acid, monooctanin,
given as an infusion into the bile duct, has been used for gallstone dissolution. According to nutritionist Erica White, caprylic
acid is excellent for dealing with Candida in the intestines, which are frequently colonized by Candida; but, being a long-chain
fatty acid, it has difficulty in penetrating fatty-cell wall membranes. Some nutritionists therefore recommend starting with
caprylic acid when treating candidiasis, but moving later to other plant oils (e.g. oil of cloves, or oregano) which contain fatty
acids with a shorter carbon chain that can more easily penetrate tissues in the body such as muscles, joints, and sinuses. Caprylic
acid is also used in the treatment of some bacterial infections. That “Capricorn” and “caprylic” have the same word root is not
a coincidence: caprylic acid is, as with other short-chained fatty-acids, present in goat’s milk in relative abundance, hence the
origin of its name (the goat’s scientific name is Capra ægagrus hircus). Caprylic acid, aka octanoic acid, must be covalently linked
to the serine residue at the 3‑position of ghrelin; specifically, it must acylate the OH group.
Odourless Super Garlic
Has effects in the prevention of atherosclerosis (thought to be by reducing cholesterol deposits in blood vessels, lowering
coronary calcification progress, and inhibiting platelet aggregation and adhesion). Preliminary research in humans suggests that
there may be smaller cholesterol deposits in blood vessels of people who take garlic in their diet, thus less hardening of arteries.
Other studies also show different mechanism of actions by garlic on preventing cardiovascular diseases. Garlic is also a potent
antipathogen agent.
Black Walnut Hulls
Fights bacteria, worms, as well as internal parasites. When taken orally, Black walnut may have some effectiveness for
gastrointestinal ailments. Chemicals in black walnut products may shrink skin and mucosal tissue, making them useful for mouth
sores and skin conditions such as ringworm or wounds. Black walnut contains two main types of active chemicals: juglone, and
astringents known as tannins. Juglone has antibiotic and antifungal effects. It is thought to have some effectiveness, as well, for
eliminating internal parasites such as tapeworms.
Suma (Pfaffia paniculata)
Has a role in enhancing immune functions. Animal and in vitro studies have shown that suma increases the macrophage (natural
killer cells) activity and boosts immune system.
Selenium (Yeast-Free l‑Selenomethionine)
Is an antioxidant mineral. It is thought to bolster immunity by strengthening the disease-fighting properties of phagocytes, the
white blood cells that destroy the invading microorganisms. The antioxidant activity of selenium — and its efficacy in boosting
human immune function — is well-documented in reference books and existing monographs.
Oregano Extract Powder (Wild) 30% Carvacrol
Inhibits the growth of Candida albicans. Its major chemical constituent, carvacrol, inhibits the growth of Candida albicans, which
resides in the mucocutaneous cavities of the skin, vagina, and intestine of humans. In recent studies, oregano oil extract inhibited
the growth of Candida albicans in vitro as well as in vivo.
Suggested Use
Adults: Take 2 capsules three times daily with food or as directed by your health-care practitioner. Take at the first sign of infection. If you are
taking supplements containing zinc, calcium, iron, or copper, take this product a few hours before or after them. For occasional use only.
