Spelling Menu Select one activity to complete from each portion of the menu (1 appetizer, entrée and dessert). Label each activity with the assignment number. It is very important that you practice every spelling word. On the word list, check off words as you use them to make sure you use each word at least twice. Appetizer 1 Make an acrostic poem for your misspelled words. 2 Write your misspelled words and draw an outline to create “force fields.” 3 Write your misspelled words in silly letters or in triangles. 4 Write the spelling list in alphabetical order. 5 Use 10 words in at least 5 sentences (underline the words). Entrée 6 Create a spelling puzzle for at least 10 of the words on Puzzle Maker (scramble, word search, crossword, etc.) 7 Write 10 “fill in the blank” sentences that include 1 word each. Make sure to include a word bank with each of the words that should be used. Turn in your puzzle or fill in the blank by Wednesday for a Fornwald buck. 8 Make a comic using at least 7 words. 9 Write 10 words and draw a picture to represent each one. Dessert 10 Complete another student’s puzzle or “fill in the blank” (get a copy from Miss F by Thursday.) 11 Create a “Madlibs” that includes at least 7 spelling words. 12 Type all your spelling words and definitions on the computer (and print). 13 Write a dialogue (conversation), letter, short story, interview, etc. using at least 10 words. 14 Write your spelling words “Scrabble –style” by connecting words using their common letters.
