Saint Sernin The church was built on a previous basilica from the 4th century which had the body of Saint Saturnin or otherwise known as Sernin buried within. Its most recent iteration is due to a devastating fire that destroyed a previous church in 1211 causing it to be rebuilt and finished in 1275.
