Clear2Pay Belgium has built specific software “CBK” designed for processing of disputed
transactions in the credit/debit MasterCard/Visa/etc. card business (so called “chargeback”
processing). The CBK solution can be described as a back-office and database application
combining:



Case management functions (history, workflows, automation, business rules)
Clearing and Operational Rules (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, etc…) to
process the litigations between the card Issuers and the transaction Acquirers.
Financial Processing (accounting events)
CBK software is to be considered as a “niche software product” marketed worldwide, currently
in 15+ countries. Clear2Pay Belgium has a leading position on this market since more than 20
years.
CBK is being updated every 6 months due to the changing Card scheme’s rules and formats. In
addition Clear2Pay Belgium develops on a regular basis new functionality and frequently
integrates the application within the customer’s local host systems.

Job Description
Clear2Pay is looking for junior Java developer (0 to 3 year experience) to strengthen the
existing OCS-CBK team.
Your high level of energy and enthusiasm and interest for payments and technology will enable
you to contribute in an agile and dynamic way within a diverse, fast-paced, multi-cultural,
multi-time zone and multi-geography environment.
You will reports to Head of CBK Product.
The dynamic work environment in a rapidly growing company allows the candidate to find his
best path corresponding to his best skills and interest.
Starting as “Java Developer” for CBK application (Junior), you can evolve to “Senior Java
Developer” and potentially to Business Analyst or “Delivery Manager - Senior Project Leader”
depending on skills and interest.

This job provides opportunity to acquire business analysis experience in the financial packages
and specifically in the credit card processing.

Java basic features (J2SE, java standard edition)
Eclipse (as a tool for development) but also Eclipse RCP (Rich Client Platform) as the
platform for CBK GUI & Eclipse RAP (Remote Application Platform) as platform for CBK
Web Interface.
'Spring Framework' and one of its extension ‘Spring Security'
'Hibernate' and 'JDBC' (Java Database Connectivity)
DB2, Oracle and MS SQL Server databases
Subversion (as a development tool for source version control)
OsCache and EhCache as caching solution (applicative/database cache handling)
JMS (Java Message Service) / IBM Websphare MQ (for Messaging)
OpenOffice with UNO (Universal Network objects): we are using OpenOffice not only
as a tool to edit document but OpenOffice is integrated with CBK to print, convert...
documents.
Jakarta Ant, not only as a development tool but also CBK batch programs are based on
Ant task.
Pnut scripting language
J2EE concepts and features are used in CBK and for integrations specificities. Not used
on a daily basis by CBK Developers.
and a large set of open source projects: Jakarta Commons, Log4j (Logging), JPos (for
ISO8583 = IPM format), JavaMail, Bitronix (Database Transaction Manager with two
phase commit support), ...
Responsibilities
As part the CBK Development team, the scope of the work is mainly:



Development of CBK package software applications.
Analysis of business and functional requirements and of the resulting technical
implementations.
Development level support for internal and external requests: questions, problem
reports or change requests analysis.
Requirements




0 to 3 years of experience
Degree in Software Development or equivalent software engineer background
Experience in JAVA technologies
Experienced in Object Oriented programming, API for Windows, GUI
