They are essential parts of your mathematics tools as you move into algebra. Let’s meet them! C is for COmmutative C O mmutative property is about changing order. Addends may be combined in any order. Factors may be multiplied in any order. Whether going or coming, the sum/product is the same! A is for ASSOciative The social property, associative property uses grouping symbols to put items together for addition or multiplication. This caddy uses “ A Social Switch Off”. D is for Distributive D is a rich uncle who multiplies value! Id is Identity Property Additive Identity: Zero added to any number keeps the number’s identity! 0 + 4= 4 Multiplicative Identity: 1 is the ONE THING that won’t change a THING when multiplying any number or term! 1x4=4 I gotta be me! Frank Sinatra Inverse: Opposite Identity Any addend plus its negative equals zero. Any factor times its reciprocal equals one. Zero: Black Hole
