Directions to rooms within the Gilbert Scott Building (Thurs am)
Directions from the Main Gate to Room G255 (Humanities Lecture Theatre)
Enter through the main gate and walk straight ahead, until you see two double-doors next to
(a model of!) a big cup of coffee. There is also a sign with “Adam Smith Business School”
beside the doors. Enter the building (Gilbert Scott Building, aka Main Building) through that
door and you will see signage indicating how to find the rooms. Go one level up, either
taking the stairs or the elevator, and then turn right (or left if you took the elevator). You will
see a wooden door next to the elevator; go through it and then go straight ahead, through
another wooden door immediately after, which will take you outside the building into the
West Quadrangle.
Now go straight ahead following the footpath. After a slight detour to your left, follow the
footpath back to the right towards the buildings at the (right-hand) corner in front of you –
there will be signage guiding you. If you are on the right track, you will see signage for the
chaplaincy before entering to the building again.
After you enter the building, turn left immediately. The door to G255 (Humanities Lecture
Theatre) is then on your right in the vestibule at the bottom of the stairs.
Directions from Room G255 to Room 305
Turn left as you leave the lecture theatre and then turn right and walk straight ahead until
you find the door taking you out of the building.
You will find yourself outdoors. Turn left and follow the footpath until you find yourself close
to the iron sculpture with the three rotating panels. Follow the signage to enter the Business
School building at the (left-hand) corner.
Go through the wooden door, turn left and you will see a stone staircase. Take the stairs to
go one level up and then walk straight ahead. You will see more signage that will direct you
to the room.
Walk up the slight incline, turn left again and go through the fire door. Open it to see a small
hall, which you will have to walk through following the signage (there are toilets on your left,
if needed). Walk straight ahead and there will be another fire door. Walk through and you will
find room 305 to your right.
Directions from Room G255 to the Main Gate
Turn left as you leave the lecture theatre and then turn right and walk straight ahead until
you find the door taking you out of the building.
You will find yourself outdoors. Turn left and follow the footpath until you find yourself close

School building at the (left-hand) corner.
Go through the wooden door, and immediately after going through it you will see another
door: go through it again. To your right is the elevator, which you can take to go one level
down, to the ground floor. Alternatively, take the stairs in front of you, and after going down
one level turn left to see the main exit. Go through that door and you will immediately see the
main gate.
