Xylem
• Xylem tissue is designed
to draw water up from
the roots  stems
leaves
Phloem
• Phloem tissue is
designed to transport
the glucose from the
leaves to the rest of the
plant.
Xylem and Phloem
• Work together to draw
water up and use water
to help distribute
glucose to the entire
plant.
Capillary Action
• Hydrogen bonding
helps the volume of
water in xylem to draw
water up from the
roots.
