Possible Spelling Activities 1. Rainbow Words - Write each word in three colors. 2. Underline the Vowels - Write each word. Next, underline all of the vowels in each word with a crayon. 3. Scrambled Words - Have someone write each word with the letters mixed-up. Then unscramble the word and write it correctly. 4. Consonant Circle - Write each word. Next, circle all of the consonants in each word with a crayon. 5. Ball Bounce - With a partner or the wall, bounce a ball as you say each letter in a spelling word. Repeat until you have practiced each word. 6. Pasta Words - Write your words by arranging alphabet pasta or Alphabits cereal. Glue on paper or take a picture. 7. Newspaper Words - Search in a newspaper or magazine for your spelling words. Cut out the words and glue them onto a piece of paper. 8. Typing - Use the computer to type each spelling word. Try to use a different font. 9. Flash - Make flash cards for studying your words. 10. Draw and Write - Write each spelling word and then draw a picture for as many words as you can. 11. ABC Order - Write your words in alphabetical order. 12. Gnilleps - Write each spelling word. Next, write each spelling word backwards. ie - spelling -- gnilleps 13. Backwriting - Using your finger, draw each letter on a partners' back. Have the partner say the word when completed. 14. Playdough Words - Using playdough or clay, make each spelling word. Take a picture of each word. 15. Knee spelling - Lift and touch your knee with the opposite hand as you say each letter of a spelling word. 16. Seeing Double - Write each spelling word using two crayons at the same time. 17. Silly Sentences - Write a silly sentence for each spelling word. 18. Draw and Hide - Draw a picture and "hide" the words in the picture. 19. Flashwriting - In a darkened room, use a flashlight to write each spelling word. 20.
