The controller is the heart of the system and provides visualization for all integrated modules.
ATTENTION ELECTRICAL VOLTAGE:
Disconnect all system components from the mains before commencing work.
The components may ONLY cabled with the mains disconnected.
The cabling may only be carried out by trained expert personnel.
Important before commissioning:
•
•
•
•
Supply every module with power.
Please check whether the GND supply corresponds to the earth zero potential.
Larger loads on the module outputs, together with capacitive and inductive loads, must be switched via relays.
The input channel may only be switched with 24 V DC.

Isolate the system from the mains before beginning commissioning.
Start the installation work with a controller (e.g.
iX800) or a converter module S1200 on the lefthand side of the cabinet.
The modules can only be mounted from left to
right.
Plug the included 5-pole smartCOM line connector into the left terminal of the module.
Mount the module on the DIN rail; it will click
when seated correctly.
Push the module along the rail to the left-hand
module in the system. Ensure that the free pins of
the connector snap into place in the socket of the
adjacent module.
Please check whether the GND supply for the 24
V power supply corresponds to an earth zero
potential!
Once the power is switched on, the power LED
lights up green.
After a few seconds, the bootstrap procedure will
begin (running LED indicator).
As soon as the running LED light is extinguished
and the CPU LED flashes, the bootstrap procedure is complete.

with additional power relays.

Start the installation work with a controller (e.g. iX800) or a converter module S1200 on the left-hand side of the cabinet.
The modules can only be mounted from left to right.
Plug the included 5-pole smartCOM line connector into the left terminal of
the module.
Mount the module on the DIN rail; it will click when seated correctly.
Push the module along the rail to the left-hand module in the system. Ensure that the free pins of the connector snap into place in the socket of the
adjacent module.
Please check whether the GND supply for the 24 V power supply corresponds to an earth zero potential!
Once the power is switched on, the ON LED lights up green.
The smartCOM LED flashes red.
Once the controller has recognized and addressed the modules, the smartCOM red LED is extinguished and the allocation and configuration can
begin via the visualization.

Isolate the system from the mains before beginning commissioning.
Start the installation work with a controller (e.g. iX800) or a converter module S1200 on the left-hand side of the cabinet.

Installation and commissioning
The device is only to be used for its intended purpose. Any improper modification or failure to follow the operating instructions voids any and all warranty and
guarantee claims.
After unpacking the device, check it immediately for possible mechanical damage.
If it has been damaged in transport, inform the supplier immediately.
The device may only be used as a fixed-site installation; that means only when
assembled and after conclusion of all installation and operational start-up tasks
and only in the surroundings designated for it.
Elsner Elektronik is not liable for any changes in norms and standards which may
occur after publication of these operating instructions.
Mounting the sensor
Push the housing from
above into the fastened
mount. The bumps on the
mount must
snap into the rails in the
housing.
When assembling , make sure that the temperature sensor (small PCB
on the bottom of the housing) is not damaged . The cable connection
between the blank and the rain sensor must not be torn or kinked at the
terminal.
Installation position
Choose an installation position in the building where wind, rain and sun
can be measured unhindered by the sensors. The weather station must
not be installed underneath any structural parts from which water can
still drip onto the rain sensor after it has stopped raining or snowing.
The weather station must not be shaded by anything, such as building
structures or trees. At least 60 cm of clearance must be left all round the
weather station. This facilitates correct wind speed measurement without
eddies. The distance concurrently prevents spray (raindrops hitting the
device) or snow (snow penetration) from impairing the measurement.
It also does not allow birds to bite it. Please take note that an extended
awning does not shade the device from sun and wind. Temperature
measurements can also be affected by external influences such as by
warming or cooling of the building structure on which the sensor is
mounted, (sunlight, heating or cold water pipes).
The weather station must be mounted on avertical wall (or a
pole) and in the horizontal transverse direction (horizontally).
When installed on the northern
hemisphere , the weather station
must be oriented to the south .
When installed in the southern
hemisphere , the weather station
must be oriented to the north .
Nord
Süd
Attaching the mount
The sensor comes with a combination wall/pole mount. The mount
comes adhered by adhesive strips to the rear side of the housing. Fasten
the mount vertically onto the wall or pole.
When wall mounting: flat side on wall, crescent-shaped collar upward.
When pole mounting: curved side on pole, collar downward.

The camera is pre-configured for optimum performance with evonHOME.
Any changes in settings done via the camera software or the web interface
could limit the functionality with evonHOME.
After installation, the camera must be supplied with power via POE
(power over Ethernet). This can be done either via POE injector or a POE
connection on the existing switch (802.3af ).
Once the power (POE) has been applied, the camera will require several
minutes before it is completely ready for operation.
The camera is configured with automatic IP address assignement (DCHP),
so it can be found by evonHOME.
