homework Chart – 2nd Nine Weeks
Please follow the homework assignments on this chart for the 2nd 9 week period. Keep it in
your binder at all times. A new homework chart will be provided every nine weeks.
Complete each assignment in your homework journal and turn it in on Friday!
Remember to do your BEST work! Use good handwriting and illustrations!
Parents: Please sign your student’s assignment once it has been completed. Your signature represents the following statement:
“My student has completed their homework assignment to the best of their ability and I helped in every possible way.”
Reading
is to be completed daily!

student to make a prediction about
the story.
** The story map or graphic organizer should be
completed at the end of week once your
student has had lots of practice with their book.

Complete your math prompt.
Cut out & glue the math prompt into your journal. Be sure to show your
thinking! Draw a picture and write a number sentence. (Example: 2 + 3 = 5)

Complete writing activity.
Color the picture prompt & glue into journal. Write 3 sentences about
the picture. Use words from your sight words list to write your sentence.
Check for capital letters & punctuation! Circle the capital letter at the
beginning of each sentence with a GREEN crayon. Circle the punctuation
at the end of each sentence with a RED crayon.
Read your just right reader.
Complete sight word / spelling activity.
Parents: Encourage your student to
talk about their favorite parts of the
story. Have them retell the story in
their own words and discuss details.
Cut out your words/dictation sentences and glue into your journal.
Choose an activity from your Spelling Activities Menu to practice your
words. Write your dictation sentences 1 time each.
Read your just right reader.
Complete “making words” activity.
Assignment: Complete graphic
organizer and glue into your journal!
Do your BEST work!
Cut apart the letters at the bottom of the page. Try to make as many
words as you can and write them on the chart. Cut & glue the word chart
into your homework journal. Use all of the letters to make the “secret
word” and paste it into your journal. Earn a sticker if you can solve it!
NOTE:
If your child does not bring home a “just right reader”, please have them read a book of their choice. We may not send
books every day. A Story map or other graphic organizer will be sent home weekly for Students to complete with their book.
