notes for the last five minutes of the quiz. The review is due Thursday, March 2 with a quiz
scheduled for Friday, March 3. Students are to study for their quiz 20 minutes each night prior to the

2. Thoroughly label all parts of the illustration below and describe, in detail what is occurring.
3. What are four separate concepts from the astronomy unit that could have influence over the weather and climate
of Earth?
4. What is the atmosphere? What is the atmosphere a mixture of? What are the four layers of the atmosphere?
Which layer contains most of the air? Why is most of the air concentrated at this layer?
5. What is weather? What are the four major factors that impact the weather? How does the sun influence moisture
found in the air? Why does air in the atmosphere have pressure or weight?
6. Why do parts of the Earth receive more direct sunlight than other parts? Which areas of the planet receive the
least amount of direct sunlight? What does it mean to call carbon dioxide a greenhouse gas? How does
conduction differ from convection?
7. Why does air have weight? What does high air pressure tend to tell you about air? What does low air pressure
tend to tell you about air?
8. What is the difference in concentration between high-pressure and low-pressure systems? How does air move in
a high-pressure system? What do the two symbols below represent and how are they different?
LABEL: Label the parts of the Earth model below with the correct terms
