WHAT IS FUTURE FACTORY?
• ERDF supported project established in
2009
• … now extended until 2015 with a total
budget of £4 million
• Collaboration between NTU schools:
CADBE, NBS and others
• Objective to assist East Midlands SMEs to
adopt more efficient and sustainable
ways of doing business:
• Through…. sustainable product and
process design, supply chain & logistics,
packaging, energy consumption,
marketing, training…..
WHAT WE OFFER:

internationally renowned speakers
• Business needs analysis & future scenarios
• Research assistant support

• HF Designs are predicting substantial business and
sustainability benefits as a result of this
intervention.

2010 = 21.09 CO2 Tonnes
2011 = 13.27 CO2 Tonnes
7.82 CO2 Tonnes reduced in one
year
= 27% reduction
Students identified a supplier of
a coal that could potentially
save Memsaab 30% of energy
CO2 emissions equating to:
10tonnes of CO2
