Four kingdoms identified:
1. Head of gold - Babylon
Daniel 2:37-38 You, O king, are a king of kings.
For the God of heaven has given you a
kingdom, power, strength, and glory; 38 and
wherever the children of men dwell, or the
beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven,
He has given them into your hand, and has
made you ruler over them all—you are this
head of gold.
Daniel 2:31-45
2.
Chest and arms of silver – Medo-Persians
Daniel 5:18 O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar
your father a kingdom and majesty, glory and honor.
Daniel 5:25-28 25 “And this is the inscription that was written:
MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
26 This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has
numbered your kingdom, and finished it; 27 TEKEK: You
have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28
PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the
Medes and Persians.”
Daniel 2:31-45
3.
The belly and thighs of bronze – Greece
Daniel 8:5-8 And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat
came from the west, across the surface of the whole
earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a
notable horn between his eyes. 6 Then he came to the

4. The legs of iron and feet partly of iron and
partly of clay – Roman Empire
Rome is not named, but we know from history
that Rome followed Greece.

heaven will set up a kingdom which shall
never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall
not be left to other people; it shall break in
pieces and consume all these kingdoms,

The ministry of John the Baptist and Jesus and the
establishment of the church occurred during the
reign of the Caesars.
Luke 3:1-3

the Jews cried out, saying, “If you let this Man go, you are
not Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king
speaks against Caesar.”

and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a
great famine throughout all the world, which also
happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.

say to you that there are some standing
here who will not taste death till they see
the kingdom of God present with power.”

Mark 9:1 points to Acts 2.
The apostles were to receive power after the Holy
Spirit came upon them.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy
Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Daniel 2:44
If we know when the HS came upon the apostles and gave them
power, we know when the kingdom came, for it was to come with
power.
Acts 2:1-4 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were
all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a
sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the
whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to
them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of
them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began
to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Daniel 2:44
The kingdom of God prophesied by Daniel, came with
power with the coming of the HS upon the apostles.

darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the
Son of His love,

companion in the tribulation and kingdom and
patience of Jesus Christ

Daniel said the kingdom would never be destroyed. This is true of
the church.
Isaiah 9:7
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father
David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever,
and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Daniel 2:44
Daniel said the kingdom would never be
destroyed. This is true of the church.

receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and
thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with
reverence and awe,
Ephesians 3:21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ
Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Jerusalem until you are endued with power

whom those believing in Him would receive; for
the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus
