Proverbs 26:15 The lazy man buries his hand in
the bowl; It wearies him to bring it back to his
mouth.
The first area I want you to consider is marriage.
1 Kings 11:4 For it was so, when Solomon was
old, that his wives turned his heart after other
gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his
God, as was the heart of his father David.
Matthew 19:4 And He answered and said to them,
"Have you not read that He who made them at
the beginning 'made them male and female,' 5
"and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his
father and mother and be joined to his wife, and
the two shall become one flesh'? 6 "So then, they
are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what
God has joined together, let not man separate."
Malachi 2:16 "For the LORD God of Israel says
That He hates divorce,
To have and to hold, from this day forward, for
better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness
and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do
us part.
Marriage has never been a 50/50 relationship it
must be a 100/100 relationship.
The second area I want to consider this morning
is our relationship with God.
John 6:49 "Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness,
and are dead. 50 "This is the bread which comes down
from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 "I am
the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone
eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that
I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the
world." 52 ¶ The Jews therefore quarreled among
themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to
eat?" 53 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say
to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and
drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 "Whoever eats
My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will
raise him up at the last day. 55 "For My flesh is food
indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 "He who eats My
flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
57 "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the
Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58
"This is the bread which came down from heaven -- not as
your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats
this bread will live forever." 59 These things He said in
the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum. 60 Therefore
many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is
a hard saying; who can understand it?" 61 When Jesus
knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this,
He said to them, "Does this offend you? 62 "What then if
you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was
before?
63 "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.
The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
64 "But there are some of you who do not believe." For
Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did
not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said,
"Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me
unless it has been granted to him by My Father." 66 From
that time many of His disciples went back and walked
with Him no more.
Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know the way of man
is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to
direct his own steps.
Proverbs 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and depart from evil. 8 It will be
health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
Psalm 119:133 Direct my steps by Your word,
And let no iniquity have dominion over me. 134
Redeem me from the oppression of man, That I
may keep Your precepts. 135 Make Your face
shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your
statutes.
John 6:67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you
also want to go away?" 68 But Simon Peter
answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You
have the words of eternal life. 69 "Also we have
come to believe and know that You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God."
Matthew 7:13 " Enter by the narrow gate; for
wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads
to destruction, and there are many who go in by
it. 14 "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is
the way which leads to life, and there are few
who find it.
Joshua 1:5 "No man shall be able to stand before you all
the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be
with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 "Be
strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall
divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their
fathers to give them. 7 "Only be strong and very
courageous, that you may observe to do according to all
the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not
turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may
prosper wherever you go. 8 "This Book of the Law shall
not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it
day and night, that you may observe to do according to all
that is written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 "Have
I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do
not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is
with you wherever you go."
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God, that you present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable and perfect will
of God.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to
whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do
you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in
you? -- unless indeed you are disqualified.
Can I honestly say that I am committed to
serving the Lord if I choose to worship Him when
it is convenient for me?
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another in
order to stir up love and good works, 25 not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,
as is the manner of some, but exhorting one
another, and so much the more as you see the
Day approaching.
Are you serving God out of convenience or are
you committed to serving Him?
